simonsreign:
“How can you prove that you’re not suicidal?” Simon asked, looking at him like he was crazy. Which, funnily enough, he was to a point. “I mean like– you can say it all you want, but I don’t know how that’s something you can prove.” He shrugged his shoulders before following Nick to the jetty. He knows things probably won’t go too well, but considering they had a whole week at the beach and they were stuck in the same cottage, Simon was hoping that things would have a slow roll. “Thanks? You’re so kind.”
“i can’t, that’s the point, fuckass,” he retorts, nudging him in the side. “i wasn’t actually being serious.” it’s how he deals with any and all problems he doesn’t feel like dealing with -- humor. without that oh-so-aggravating coping method, he doesn’t think he’d still be standing. not that Simon needs to know that. “i know, you should be on your knees thanking me,” he half-jokes, flashing a grin as he leads Simon toward the jetty. “you know, in the fun way.”
sawycrfilms:
Sawyer knew he was right and she knew that there was no way of getting around him and she knew that he wasn’t going to let her in so she just sighed and leaned against the side of the cabin, staring at him until she somehow came up with a way to get in. Eventually, she just gave up and decided the best option would be to ask again. “Look, Nick, I really need to speak to him. I know he’s not home but like this is a dire emergency so instead of me just wandering around to find him, can I please just come inside and wait?” She knew niceties rarely ever worked in her case but she figured giving them a shot would be her best chance. “I wouldn’t be asking if I didn’t have to speak to him. You really think I’d want to sit around in a room where you were the only occupant? I’d rather choose hell. But this is important.”
Not that she’d ever tell Nick about what was actually going on or what she needed to talk to him about because it was important to her but it. wasn’t exactly like a. life threatening feeling. More just things she knew she couldn’t talk about with Sarah and mostly, she just really missed Simon and missed their one on one time and wanted it back. “If it makes it even more convincing, I’ll leave you and Simon alone for like a week after this.” Not that it was true but she just wanted a way in.
a smirk slides across his face, an all too smug expression. he knows that she can’t wiggle her way past him and it’s obvious from her pleading that she’s aware of this as well -- it almost makes her dependent on him, here. he can keep saying no and there’s absolutely nothing she can do about it, aside from sitting herself down where she stands and arguing with him until Simon reappears. urgency aside, it’s not exactly a pleasant situation. “why do you think i care if it’s an emergency?” he asks, clearly enjoying whatever power he can hold over her. “if it’s really such a big deal, you should fuck off and find him yourself. unless you’re just looking for an excuse to spend time with me... which, while flattering, is not really something i’m into.”
obviously, she’s well aware of this... and feels the exact same way about him.
he rolls his eyes, making himself more comfortable by leaning against the door frame. “you really expect me to believe that you’ll just buzz off for a whole week? i wouldn’t believe it if you offered a whole day. come on, Sawyer, we both know that’s a lie.” an obvious one at that. if things are really as urgent as she claims, she won’t leave her best buddy to fend for himself with him. especially when every time she’s not around things seem to take a turn for the worst -- or, in his opinion, the best. “so, unless you have any arguments to why i should let you in... or, you know, care about any of your problems... i’m gonna go shut the door in your face and pretend you didn’t come by. sound like a plan?” of course, he isn’t expecting her to agree.
simonsreign:
“It’s so hot when you shut up,” Simon nudged him with a laugh before shrugging at his offer. “Yeah, sure. You’re definitely not suicidal.” It wasn’t that Simon was projecting, it was more that he knew how Nick’s mind worked and he knew that he had the death thoughts sometimes. It was inevitable, especially after what they had been through. “You have a point…” He murmured quietly, “alright, we can do that. But maybe we not bruise me up because I want to relax for just a day before you start to screw with me here. Or is that unfair to you?”
Nick snickers, but doesn’t offer much more than a roll of his eyes in response. “i’m not! what, you want me to prove it?” it isn’t exactly a lie when he’s not chronically suicidal, but there are those nights he wakes up in a cold sweat and wishing for the sweet release of death. just, Simon doesn’t need to know that. “hmm...” he trails off, as if considering the idea of not slinging him around like a ragdoll for once. “i’ll think about it.” it’s not a promise, but it’s not the instant denial that usually ends up as his answer. “let’s check the place out first, and then we’ll see about being fair or not.” he nudges Simon, offering a wink before he starts off for the jetty.
leo-rushworth:
“I doubt it, the actual shit would just happen during the screaming mob.” He told Nick, grinning slightly. “It says it’s like a few minutes walk away. In the opposite direction we’re going though,” Leo said, turning around on the spot as he stared at the map on the website. “I’ve never been to a spa so I have no idea what I’m doing, by the way.”
“you know what? that’s true. we’d be picked off one by one mid-scream.” he laughs, but it’s not exactly an unrealistic situation. he knows better than to assume a school trip from plath will be as murder-free as any other, especially with how many killers make up the student body. “oh, shit, really?” he asks, turning to follow Leo in the opposite direction. “man, me neither. i’ve never been in a place like this period.”
sawycrfilms:
“You really expect me to believe that you are going to tell him that I came by?” Sawyer asked. “I may avoid you in most circumstances but I know you well enough to know that’s a lie.” Sawyer said and sighed. Since the moment that she met Nick, there had been something off about him and then hearing that she shouldn’t trust him, from the one person who knew him best, didn’t make her like him any more. Put in the fact that this male had kept her from spending time from Simon and you got a really bitter Sawyer. “You have one of two options. Either you move aside and let me wait for him inside, or I push past you and let me inside. I really need to talk to him and i’m not going away that easily.”
Sawyer wondered if she could even push past the male in front of her. Sawyer may have been tough but she was tiny and really not that strong, even though she pretended she was. She stood her ground though, eyeing Nick to see what decision he would make and if action would need to take place. Sawyer was confident that she could get in there either way and she wasn’t moving. She’d stand there all day if she had to, but she wasn’t about to let Nick just turn her away like that.
he crosses his arms over his chest, eyeing Sawyer distastefully. he doesn’t expect her to believe anything he says ( especially when it’s not true ) but it doesn’t make her defiance any less annoying. “nope, but like i said, he’s not here right now, so you’re better off trying somewhere else.” if she actually manages to find him, good for her. if not, he hopes to see Simon back in their room before too long -- he has business to attend to. business that doesn’t include one of the most insufferable people he’s had the displeasure of meeting at plath academy. “i’d like to see you try and shove past me, pipsqueak.” he sneers, staring down at her with a smug glint in his eye. she’s much, much smaller than he is, and while she’s also had the misfortune of spending time at juvenile hall, she’s not exactly on par with his experience.
even Simon wasn’t a match for him, if past experience said anything.
“look, as much as i’d love to sit around and watch you glare at me, this is my room, too. why don’t you run off into the sunset with Sarah, or something? i’m sure that’s more gratifying.” and it leaves him to his own devices, which with all the hard work he’s being doing in school, is something he sorely needs. it’s difficult being a master of manipulation, after all, and a beach side vacation is the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge for the trip back... and to get ready for the next school year, in which both him and Simon are attending the local college.
leo-rushworth:
“A scream mob would probably be what the staff here are expecting us to be anyway, might as well give them what they want,” Leo told him jokingly. “Good idea,” he stopped walking as he dug around his pockets for his phone and stayed standing still as he typed in the resort into google, clicking on the link and grinning. “It does! It doesn’t say if it’s extra or not though. I have money for us both if we need it anyway, what’s a vacation without overspending?”
“right? maybe if that happens it’ll hold off any actual shit.” he’s not dumb enough to actually believe that ( or that their innocent beach trip will stay that way ) but it’s a fun thought. the whole school, screaming until whatever actually came to make them scream gets bored and leaves. what an iconic trip that would be. “not one worth going on, amiright? which way to this spa?” he grins, more than pleased that even if this is expensive, he has someone to cover the costs... especially since he doesn’t have any actual money of his own.
simonsreign:
“Yeah, that works too. Anything to get rid of you,” Simon smiled sweetly at him, even though the situation was anything but sweet. “Brooklyn did a lot, Nick. Homicidal, suicidal, it’s whatever you want it to be if you think about it long and hard enough. Besides, I can’t swim so this is the most enjoyment I get when it comes to ocean activities. C’mon, just give me this?”
“aw, babe. it’s so hot that you’re into death like that,” he teases, flashing a crooked grin. he treats everything like a joke, and his endless banter ( mind games ) are no exception. “i thought we’d already established that you’re suicidal and i’m not. if i really wanted to die, i’d have offed myself by now.” and he’d definitely take Simon with him. “Simon, as much as i’d love to humor you, it’s just not realistic to commit suicide at the beach. so... how about we go check out the jetty instead? i’m sure there’s tons of ways to bruise you up out there.”
sawycrfilms:
Sawyer was grateful the school year was over, not that she had attended most of the last year, but she was glad that there was time to relax before she had to do it all over again. But between the stress of the creeper, and worrying about her friendships, and worrying about not going to juvie again and school work, it was all just too much. She needed this break and this beach trip was honestly the perfect place to do so. Granted, she hated the sun and she burnt up like a crisp if she was in it too long but getting to spend enough time with her friends without worrying about anything sounded pretty nice.
Although there was one thing worrying her mind and this thing, or person rather, had seemed to be trying to weasel his way into her best friend’s life without caring about what it could do to him. Sawyer wasn’t okay with that, ultimately because she felt this need to protect Simon, so she was doing what she could but it wasn’t much to be honest. And of course, the same weasel opened the door when she had gone to steal Simon away. Rather than start something though, she tried to just ignore him as best she could and just let out “I need Simon, could you get him for me? Thanks”. and crossed her arms and just waited, not wanting to deal with Nick more than she had to. @unrulyrojas
it was more than a little surprising to hear that someone had supplied the school with an all expenses paid trip to florida, but Nick’s the last person who will complain about the development. after everything he’s been through at plath, after everything he’ll continue to go through ( even after he’s graduated ), it’s the least the administration can provide. a stress-free environment is the perfect opportunity to kick back and not worry about jack shit, and even better? the tracker on his wrist is essentially meaningless while he’s there. even if it was still monitoring his location, there’s nowhere he’s not allowed to go -- at least, not that anyone will be able to catch him for. for the first time in more years than he likes to admit, he’s actually free to do as he pleases.
it’s probably the best thing that’s ever happened to him, aside from Simon.
he’s pulled out of his thoughts by a knock at the door, and setting aside his things, he moves to answer it. to his ( not? ) surprise, it’s one of Simon’s friends, and one he harbors a particular dislike for, at that. before he can even open his mouth to make some sort of accusatory statement ( he’s thinking what are you doing here? is a good start ), she’s already ordering him around. typical. “he’s not here right now,” he replies, baring his teeth in an unfriendly grin. “but i can take a message! i’ll tell him you came by.” of course, when ( read: if ) he does, he’ll likely add a few minor details to the tale, just to put himself in the favorable position. what does it matter if Simon doesn’t actually believe him when his subconscious eats up every word?
“you can go now.”
leo-rushworth:
“I’d be screaming with you so you wouldn’t look too weird, don’t worry,” Leo told him, starting to walk in a random direction in hopes of finding a spa or a map. “Uh, I hope so? If not I can’t imagine it’s that expensive…”
“hell yeah. maybe we could everyone else involved, too -- just one big scream mob,” he jokes, following Leo as soon as he starts off in a random direction. “i wonder if we could look it up. think this place has a website? and it better be cheap if it’s not covered... i’m broke as shit.”
simonsreign:
“So, I was thinking… Why don’t you swim out to where the sharks are and I can watch you die? I think it’ll be fun for both of us. Cause you get to die, which you really want I imagine considering y’know… Brooklyn. And I get to watch you die, which I definitely want.”
@unrulyrojas
“Simon, sharks don’t even eat people. that’d be the biggest waste of time in my life. if i really wanted to die, i’d just slit my throat with a sharp rock, or some shit.” he shakes his head, sighing at the audacity he has to assume he’d commit like that. “besides, brooklyn made me homicidal, not suicidal. god, i thought you’d remember the difference by now.”
leo-rushworth:
“I hope this is all just fun with no drama at all,” Leo told the boy truthfully, wanting everyone to just have a good time. “I have no idea. Do you think there’s like, a spa or something here? I’ve never been to a spa before.”
“same, man. i think i’d scream if something else went wrong around here.” depending, of course, on what said drama was. as long as it isn’t something he likes, he and Leo are on the same page. “...who knows? we should go and check it out, dude. think plath will pay for it?”
fcrgcttvn:
his sharp eyes cut to the other male and a slight flush rises on his cheeks. “maybe..” he says weakly. “okay definitely. im definitely enjoying the view.” xavier’s eyes slide over to the boys one last time before he sighs and glares at the floor. “hey, what did you mean by heteronormativity?”
a breath of laughter escapes him as he notes the other boy’s blush. maybe, his ass. “yeah, that’s what i thought,” he teases, a crooked grin sliding across his face. “no need to be so secretive about it, dude. if anyone gives you shit about it, just bash their nose in.” that’s what he does... or, at least, that’s what he wants to do. “heteronormativity is basically the effect in society where straight is assumed the default for people, if not the only sexuality. you know, straight bullshit.”
leo-rushworth:
“It’s about time!” He exclaimed, grinning at the boy. “I think it’s gonna be very worthwhile. Wanna go do something fun, I don’t know what though there’s too much choice.”
“you’re telling me. i feel like it’s been ages since anything cool’s happened,” he replies, laughing lightly. “hell fucking yeah, man.” he pauses, glancing around. “what the fuck should we do, though?” Leo’s not wrong, there are options everywhere.
leo-rushworth:
“Have you seen these cottages? With these and the buffet, I think I could live here forever!”
“dude, right? finally this trash school does something right. this might actually be worthwhile.”
fcrgcttvn:
“is it possible to be gay and not know you’re gay?” xavier asks the person beside him, eyes trained on the boys on the beach. “or at least half gay? is that a thing? that’s a thing right?”
“most of us don’t know we’re gay right off the bad, fuckwad,” he says, though there’s no venom in his tone. he’s just naturally insulting. “it’s what heteronormativity does to us. as for being half gay, that’s just called being bisexual. why, enjoying the view?”
