The one and only able to review, organize and archive all the documents of the castle of Moulinsart (and the only one capable of not losing her sanity while there). Martine Vandezande.

After getting the Job at Moulinsart (and as it was described at Unfinished lines, by @unscandal ) I imagined her being every day with lots and lots of ancient documents of the Haddock family. The castle library gives me off cozy vibes, with old furniture, and very warm colors (and she wearing cute outfits why not 😉💅✨)

The Attic

Hey there! It's been ages since I last drew or painted anything. So long, in fact, that my drawing tablet isn't even compatible with Windows 10 (or anything newer than Windows XP, for that matter). That's how old it is. So for now, it's just me and the mouse.

That said, I realized the last Tintin/Martine drawing on Tumblr is about a year old, so I figured I had to do something about it. This couple needs some love.

Tough the colors look a bit off on my phone... Learning to use Krita, perhaps I messed somewhere in the process.

Holi holi! Acabo de terminar de leer los últimos capítulos de <<Líneas inconclusas>> y nomás quería pasar a decir que estuvieron divinos ✨.

El capitulo 10 me tenia pegada a la pantalla leyendo como si no hubiera mañana, el misterio y la tensión de todo lo sentí muy palpable. Me gusta ver el camino que le has dado a los personajes y las tramas. He de admitir que al leer la nota del capítulo 9 pe puse un poquito triste al ver que la historia iba a terminar, pero Hey! hay otro arco :D

Tu trabajo escribiendo es maravilloso, no dejes de escribir porque somos varios los que estamos pendientes ;)

La verdad es que para mí también fue difícil y un poco triste decidir dónde cortar. La historia ya era larga, y escribir Líneas Inconclusas fue para mí todo un desafío personal: quería mostrar una historia fiel a Tintin, pero con Martine como un nuevo factor.

¿Pueden la aventura y el romance ir de la mano? Yo creo que sí. ¿Puede una mujer tener un lugar en ese universo? Para un lector de hoy, claramente sí; pero quizás no habría sido así en la época en que Tintin se originó. ¿Y él? ¿Sigue siendo el mismo después de todo? Puede que no, porque eso lo vuelve más humano: tiene dudas, siente miedo.

Teniendo en cuenta todas estas preguntas que quedan un poco abiertas a la interpretación de cada lector… y sabiendo que definitivamente quiero seguir escribiendo, creo que fue el momento adecuado 😊

Oh my goodness... It's such a shame for me to answer you after all this time. I am really, really sorry for disappearing like that without a word!

Honestly, I feel a bit like the Spielberg/Peter Jackson Tintin movie—I showed up right before the release, shined for a brief moment, and then vanished into a brutal, years-long silence.

Life got in the way and I had to disconnect for a long time, but your note means the world to me!

I really hope one day to be able to have enough time and space (especially space) to draw again.

Hi, I've been reading your fanfic on your blog and even dig further to your "ancient" Tintin fanarts. And I have a question, well, what voice do you imagine Martine to have? Anyway, have a nice day!

Hi! Thank you so much for reading, and also thanks for digging all the way back to my old Tintin fanarts! That really means a lot to me.

This is a hard question 🤔

I don’t actually have a specific actress in mind for Martine’s voice, if that's what you mean. But I do have an idea of how it evolves throughout the story. Since it does change as her confidence grows and she realizes she is falling in love, her voice isn't just one static thing.

At the very beginning, given her professional background, I imagine her sounding very sober, formal, and collected (except when she's talking to herself). In fact, whenever she feels that the truth is being hidden from her, her tone can become quite "dry" and detached. However, as the story progresses, and especially after "The Open Door", her voice begins to soften. As she opens up and grows closer to Tintin and the others in Moulinsart, her tone becomes much more gentle, warm, and she even allows herself to sound a bit playful and sometimes teasing around Tintin.

So, rather than a specific voice actor, it’s really about that shift from a guarded, professional demeanor to something much more open and tender.

I was catching up on the fanfic of @unscandal and the episode of "Low tide" made me generate a mental image of Tintin driving and the captain suffering the consequences, so I decide to draw it. In my mind this was hilarious (˶ˆᗜˆ˵)

I'm not an expert in putting lights in drawings, but I liked the result for being the first time in a lot that I enjoy drawing (and the first time that Tintin comes out decent)

Holi!, he estado leyendo tu fanfic desde tu regreso (Está maravilloso por cierto) y me saltó una duda, ¿esta ubicado temporalmente en alguna década en particular? Hay muchos momentos magníficos y me gastaría intentar dibujarlos, pero tratándose de Martine, me gustaría saber mas o menos en que década estaría inspirada su ropa.

Holaaa!! Que buena pregunta. He tratado de dejar la época en que transcurre la historia un poco a la interpretación del lector para mantener la atemporalidad de los personajes dentro del contexto en el que fueron creados.

Pero respondiendo a tu pregunta! Cuando escribo, personalmente me lo imagino a finales de los 80 -digamos que en algún punto entre 1985 y 1990-, aunque intento no hacerlo evidente.

Estaré atenta a tus dibujos! Me alegro mucho de que estés disfrutando la historia ☺️
