Beck  remembers  a  time  when  he  was  unsure  about  Sarah , but  he’s  unable  to  fully  grasp  that  feeling  because  now  it’s  wrapped  up  in  a  feeling  of  affection  that  mutes  everything  else that  used  to  be  there . 

In  short  terms , he  feels  safe  with  her . Not  because  of  her  physical  strength  or  anything  in  that  area ( but  he  does  admire  that  about  her ) , more  that  she’s  just  like  him  and  he  knows  that  he  can  be  himself  around  her  without  judgment  or  fear  from  her . 

They  both  lost a   spouse  and  have  been  on  the  front  line , they’ve  both  endured  torment  that ‘s  beyond  spoken  word. Added  to   that  she’s  soft  and  warm  and  happy , He  cares  about  her  so  much.

Ehrie . Where   does  Beck  start  to  describe  what  he  thinks  about  Ehrie  or  how  he  feels  about  him . When  he’s  around  the  younger  male  everything  somehow  feels  fuzzy  and  unreal  around  the  edges - but  at  the  same  time  heightened  and  vibrant . He’s  not  sure  how  he  manages  to  create  both  effects  at  the  same  time , but  he loves  the  way  he  feels . 

His  kind  of  JEALOUS  of  the  kid . He’s  everything  that  he  wishes  he  could  be - strong , intelligent , hopeful . He’s  like  Beck’s  description  of  perfect  taken  from  paper  and  transformed  into  a  living  breathing  ... God . 

He’s  just  so  damn  in  love  with  him , he’d  do  anything  for  him , and  give  him  anything  that  he  wants .

Beck  doesn’t  really  know a  lot  about  Lex , but  from  the  little  encounter  that he’s  had  with  her , he  feels  like  she’s  incredibly  well  put  together  and  has  a  strength  that  he  admires  in  her .
