"The sun rises in the east, and in the east is the place for the Worshipful Master. As the sun is the source of all light and warmth, so should the Worshipful Master enliven and warm the brethren to their work. Among the ancient Egyptians the sun was the symbol of divine providence. The hierophants of the Mysteries were adorned with many insignia emblematic of solar power. The sunbursts of gilt embroidery on the back of the vestments of the Catholic priesthood signify that the priest is also an emissary and representative of Sol Invictus."

In ancient Egypt, the feather of Ma’at (an ostrich feather) symbolized truth, morality, justice, balance, order, and law. It was also the feather used in the weighing of the heart ceremony, which determined whether or not a person lived a just life and if they had, they could safely pass into the after life. It may be for this very reason, that ostrich feathers are worn upon the head dress of Knight Templar regalia as well as many other orders such as the Knights of Malta.

"This is very important, because this is where you see the roots, the real roots of modern Freemasonry. The Egyptians were great builders, stone builders, and obviously their two greatest achievements in stone building were pyramids and obelisks. It is no coincidence that pyramids and obelisks are used as symbols of Freemasonry. Freemason meaning Free-builder. Here, we’re not talking about only building structures, physical structures. We’re talking about building your own inner temple, so the building concept is very important and that is why there is a strong association with ancient Egypt." - Akram Elias
Step 1: Read the mostly plagiarized works of Aleister Crowley, the Justin Bieber of the occult world. ”Do What Thou Wilt” - Francois Rabelais Step 2: Read Manly P Hall’s books without realizing how many inconsistencies and misinterpretations there are.
Step 3: Quote Crowley and Hall to no end...
I like how diverse lodges are. Some of them look like Greek or Egyptian styled temples, some are painted to resemble the heavens or night sky, and others just look totally out there.
