unwaveringconviction:
Lucas certainly had an interesting way of summing up his view of the governments. But Sorey couldnât entirely deny the othersâ words, considering his own experiences at the hands of the council. They had tried to use him, and were so used to seeing the world through a warped view that they had been convinced Alisha had been using him as well.
âNo, that was fine. Iâm interested to hear how you see things there. Iâm sure itâs important.â That Lucas had immediately went on to talk about the leadership was telling, perhaps more about the mercenary than the governments themselves. Sorey could pick up a heavily biased viewpoint when he heard it, even if there was truth to it.
But really, he was more interested in the common folk. The culture, the cities, and their pasts, how the country itself felt. However, everything was a part of history, and one day in the future, what was happening now would be looked back upon the same way the events of decades past were now.
âHey LucasâŠhow much supplies do we have?â There sure was a lot of people theyâre trying to move here, either until things blow over, or all the way to ladylakeâ either way, they needed to keep everyone fed and healthy for a while.
âEnough to last a day or two, depending on       how much we conserve.â
It would be easy if it were a group of people used to travelling but a village full of people who have never ventured beyond the safety of the townâs walls is another story. They likely wouldnât know the rules of the land in order to survive and will likely eat out their entire supply before they get to the Capital. The workaround to this would be hunting and gathering; meats provided by the fauna were high quality in this region and there were a few berries and herbs that they could gather. Lucas was more suited to the former, the latter would be left to the men under him who knew about whatâs edible and what isnât. Water was also an issue until they get to the river, at least.
Lucasâ words hinted the problem to the Shepherd. It would mean---
âWeâll likely have to hunt for food.â
---theyâll run out of food and water before they reach the capital.
WOHOO! Found scans for tales of zestiria manga :âD China FTW! Meebo is so full of feels there XD

I wonder If thereâs chapter 7+ somewhere OTL
âLookâs like Iâll be takinâ a break while Mr. Knight      over there gets his shit together.â
â... ... I am not ready yet! Donât show them!â
âMod is thinking of adopting Mr. Knight and Mr. General Kitty          as muses. So I have to bunk with Sergei while Heldalf gets          his own room? How is that fair?â
Am I the only one that thought Mikleo was gonna shot his staff with the bow?
unwaveringconviction:
Lucas certainly seemed to hold the kind of worldliness that Sorey would expects from a well-traveled man. And people who had the chance for such a life, he held in high regards for what must be a rich breadth of experiences. To be able to see the worldâ it was Soreyâs dream. There was an obvious gleam and respect in Soreyâs eyes as he listened to the mercenaryâs response.
âThat must be amazing!â It didnât sound like a bad life, except maybe for what a mercenary does. Itâs an honest job, especially with this lot under Lucas, but fighting for a living didnât sound too appealing to Sorey.
âYou really do seem to have everything figured out. Your men must trust you a lot.â Lucas seemed to put a lot of care towards the people who worked under him, and in response Sorey has seen them do some good work, despite difficult circumstances. He truly respected them all for staying in Marlind, under the threat of the plague. âWhatâs it like over in Rolance? Iâm hoping to go there myself someday.â It had been his immediate plans, but with the war threatening, that might have to wait a bit longer.
What he does for a living isnât as grand, as say, saving the world and becoming a hero of justice or a white knight in shining armor, but it was something he found pleasure in doing; fighting, guarding, exterminating bandits or animals that threaten the commonfolk - it was all the same in the end and it gave him the money to keep his men and their families happy. Theyâd be lost without him---
---well that wasnât exactly true. Heâs made sure they could work independently from him but the support of their leader had always boosted morale. Whatever mood he was in, his men would often follow suit.
     âThink of it like Hyland.â
Although he hasnât been hired by many Rolance Nobles or the like and only interacted with them on a few occasions, he at least understood the nature of such a place.
âYou got one asshole in charge of ruining peopleâs lives...â
Whether or not Lucas cared his language was crude or not, that about sums up the current powers of both nations, whether they are actively doing such things or discreetly, if knowing or unknowingly.
âYou got those tryinâ to make it better.
If he recalled what the current ruler was in Rolance, it should be some kid who is in way over his head and thus the lead would have been passed to someone below him.
Or was that the other way around...? Well, whoever it was         running Rolance right now, they are definitely assholes.
âThen there are the people caught in the middle... ... ... ... ...        And... ya werenât talkinâ about its current leadership,        were you?â
Sorey seemed like the type of guy who was more interested in the other things like fine arts, architecture and the geography of the land and not any of that political bullshit.
sergei does his best
A lot of people seemed to like my ruins nerds doodle and so I decided to draw more ~ ALSO NEW MEMBER !!! (thanks to some of you that suggested Pascalâs addition to the squad)
STAY TUNED FOR MORE RUINS NERDS SQUAD ADVENTURES
Ok but what if Sorey and Mikleo were to meet Raine from ToS ??
Probably.
My idea of a possible Seraph!Sorey. Pretty simple, but I didnât want to go too far from his original design >.< Despite the colors, heâs not a water Seraph (itâs just because I always associate Sorey to the blue color, and I didnât want to use too much white anyway).
His hair are longer than that, but the cloak is covering them :â(
Also⊠tight shirt to show his abs =q= *runs away*

unwaveringconviction:
Sorey had been open and honest. The name of the Shepherd already held some weight with the villagers, and fortunately between that and his natural earnesty, Sorey had managed to convince a few families to join the evacuation efforts. He even had time to drop by to see Rohan and Atakk, making the two promise to flee if it came to that. It would do no good if they generated malevolence if the town was occupied, especially when both already had a history of becoming hellions.
The departure from town looked disorderly from the outside. So many people and animals and stuff that needed to be moved, but Sorey was surprised to see how smoothly it went, considering everything. He mostly stayed out it for the most part, letting Lucas, his men, and the soldiers from town handle anything that couldnât be solved by a few encouraging words from the Shepherd.
Half a day didnât seem too bad to reach their first camp for the night. Sorey knew that he could have covered that distance in a fraction of the time alone, but things sure were different when you were moving an entire population. He was less visibly on edge than the mercenary, but he wasnât relaxed either. The boy may not even realized just how tense he was, with possible war looming over them and the constant threat of hellions that none but him could truly handle. So when asked, Sorey blinked at the sudden question, pulling away from a train of thought that had been passed between the seraphim dwelling within him.
âIâve never traveled anywhere outside my hometown before recently, so itâs been a lot of new experiences, and Iâve got to meet all sorts of people. Iâve never been alone, though.â He got a mental ribbing from both Mikleo and Edna. Now since when were both of them on the same side? Right, Lucas didnât believe in the Seraphim, thus Sorey shouldnât keep drawing attention to himself in that regard. ââwell, I mean, I was with Alisha up until now. I guess youâve been all over the place as a mercenary, havenât you?â
In other words, the Shepherd Sorey was a complete amateur, a novice traveling the continent with seemingly just the clothes on his back - how the kid survived this long out in the world was beyond him but he suppose it was possible if he was traveling with that girl. However, without that support, he had no doubt in his mind the kid would not survive on his own if this was his first time out in the world. The world would eat him right up and take advantage of his naivete
When asked about himself, Lucas couldnât help but respond in an almost cocky tone.
âCourse, I have. Iâve worked for people on both sides            of the continent.â
The Woodsmen were well-traveled, working for various jobs from nobles and countrymen alike, from both Rolance and Hyland. He and his men were quite well known by even the higher ups of both the Rolance Empire and the Kingdom of Hyland. If one did not know how to survive out in the wilds on their own, it was sure to be a deaths sentence, whether it be through being attacked and eaten by wild animals, killed by bandits, or if one did not know the rules of survivalism. Money was especially important - repairing equipment and paying for medical gels - but for Lucas, it was insurance, to make sure that his men had some money to fall back on when unexpected things happen to them.
â---With the right price, of course.â
He isnât cheap, but he makes sure honest people paid fairly, as opposed to overcharging scumbags and cowards.

Tales of Zestiria PC mod enables 60FPS
They said it couldnât be done (and by âtheyâ I mean publishers Namco), but a recently updated mod for the PC version of Tales of Zestiria now offers play at 60fps. Previously, the game was capped at 30fps; and it was thought that this limit was too ingrained with the engineâs coded logic to be changed (at least without causing some weird issues).
However, this post by Steam user âKaldaienâ (which credits the removal of the 30fps cap to someone called âDrDaxxyâ) contains the latest installation of a tool that should have you running Tales of Zestiria in 60fps-o-vision.
The download contains three files (tzfix.dll, d3d9.dll, and d3d9.ini), which should be dropped into the Tales of Zestiria installation directory (SteamApps/common/Tales of Zestiria, wherever you keep that). If you want to change the default configuration of the tool, then youâll need to refer to the Steam thread linked in the second paragraph for further tweaks (such as audio sampling rate, which may need to be altered on some systems).
Hereâs a more comprehensive list of what the tool adds, changes, and fixes:
The 30 FPS cap (Author: DrDaxxy).
Stutter caused by the Software Framerate Limiter.
Shimmering Artifacts.
7.1 Channel Audio Crashes (PATCHED: 11/3/2015).
Audio Distortion caused by Sample Rate.
Aspect Ratio on Full-Motion Videos.
Aspect Ratio and FOV in the field.
And experimentally (0.4.0) the UI as well.
Steam Broadcasting.
Enable this yourself by editing tzfix.ini.
Or open the console (Ctrl+Shift+Tab) and type AllowBroadcasts 1.
It also adds:
Option to significantly increase character shadow detail (Original Author: Durante).
Framerate counter with instantaneous frametime.
Steam achievement unlock sound.
PSN trophy sound is the default, but you can use any .wav file.

           â lucas ! â
brandishing his blade, itâs just in time to deflect a vaulted spear, casting it to the ground at their feet where it falls over unceremoniously. a second one follows suit, so the flick of his wrist positions his blade to likewise knock it off course. hah, cheap shot. a quick glance over his shoulder which ensures the mercenaryâs safety, it leads way to a grin while his gaze sweeps over the foes before them. goblin-like hellions, baring their teeth with wicked snarls. four of âem in all.
maybe they arenât snarling at all, but some kind of wicked smile ! gosh darn if those carts just didnât beat all. he wonât say it, heâs not gonna â
âlooks like you could use a hand,â he quips, an ever light note reflected in his tone knowing that these things can be purified with some tried & true effort. the malevolence is there, but it doesnât even hamper the domain here { which was once much, much heavier } â âis everyone alright?â
Lucas was no pushover whenever he is in the heat of battle; his prowess in his swordsmanship could be comparable to those of a beast charging through its enemies or something akin to a natural disaster. If he were to be compared to anyone in terms of his skills with the blade, then Captain Sergei Strelka, whom he had encountered once before, would be his closest match. That would attest to how good he was in the battlefield; he was so good, he could fight an almost entire platoon by himself.
---Which is why he couldnât comprehend his current predicament. What he was facing were not the feral animals of the area. They appeared to be human and yet their movements were anything but human. He was surrounded, but even if they appeared to be more than human, the mercenary leader would be able to handle something like this, surely.
A voice calls out to him, and the Leader of the Woodsmen turned his head just in time to see a figure clad in white deflect a spear from the ballista it had.
        âShepherd...?â
The last time he had seen him, Shepherd Sorey had performed acts of god on the battlefield, powerful magic he couldnât understand and strength wielded far beyond what human beings are capable of doing. If he were honest with himself, he found it scary at first, but since then, Lucas had time to think about that moment - about why Sorey had charged into battle to retrieve him and his men.
Was it because he was the Shepherd? Was he someone who couldnât look a blind eye and help anyone he sees in front of him? He couldnât understand Soreyâs motives, but for some reason, he felt safe.
Lucas realized he had been staring as if he had seen a ghost and shook his head.
âY-yeah. My men ainât pushovers, ya know.â
Scrapes and a few bruises. The worst was one of his men bleeding but it was not life threatening.
    âWhat are you doing here?â
He questioned while positioning himself back to back with the Shepherd.
