A coconut tree reaches its production peak from 20 to 50 years old, bearing an average of 50 fruits a year (30-70). After organic food companies pack into cans or tetra packs the coconut water, the shells have little or no use for them. And here is where we enter the game. Our craftsmen recycle every part of the shells and transform them into unique handicrafts items.
Although many of our products are made by collecting and transforming the shells, part of our products relies on the whole of the coconut tree. Most of the coconut trees are growing too old to bear fruit . They need to be replaced every year by planting new ones. When food companies dispose of old trees, we recover this precious and naturally antibacterial wood and make out of it the handy utensils that we use, sell and love.
Most of these trees have reached the final stage of their lives. Then growers deploy them when they reach 60/80 years. Therefore buying sustainable products like the ones in this set helps the farmers both financially and logistically. It will support the replantation and restart a new natural cycle.
