Gables Uptown Tower Participates in Gables Day

Each year on Gables Day, every associate company-wide, puts aside their normal daily work activities to volunteer in their region. Since 2000, Gables associates and vendors have contributed over 100,000 volunteer hours and $1,000,000 in goods and services. In 2007, Gables Day was dedicated to assisting several hurricane impacted neighborhoods in New Orleans. Gables was awarded the "2007 Community Service Project of the Year" by Multifamily Executive Magazine for the volunteer efforts in New Orleans contributed by Gables associates.

Since it is a new year, we would like to provide you with some tips your may or may not know about living at Gables Uptown Tower. We hope you find these useful. Today’s tip is Gables Gateway! It is an easy way to: • Pay your rent online • Submit online maintenance requests • Submit a key release How do you sign up? Go to www.gables.com, click on “resident” button in upper right hand corner and create your account. If you need any help please contact the leasing office. The greatest part is you can use your computer, tablet or smart phone to access it. Technically, you can access it almost anywhere!!

How Pinterest Can Make Apartment Life Better

Pinterest is all the rage when it comes to home and apartment projects. We at Gables Uptown Tower wanted to put a DIY Apartment Fun Pinboard together of a few of our favorite DIY apartment ideas.

If you are unfamiliar with Pinterest, it is a virtual pinboard, that allows you to take any image from the internet and place it on a categorized pinboard. You can take any image from any website and add it to your collection. Let’s say you search Google for “Decorating Ideas" and you come across a website that has an idea you like, instead of doing it the old school way and bookmarking it, you can download the Pinterest bookmarklet, and add that decorating idea to your “Decorating Ideas" Pinterest board, to come back and view later.

Pinterest is also a great way for brides to plan their weddings. You can search Pinterest for "Wedding ideas on a budget" and you’ll get tons of images that match your search. When you click on an image, it will show you a how-to or where you can purchase what you are looking at.

It's the first week of January and I already have broken my New Year's Resolutions. I want to drink less, eat healthier food, reduce my coffee intake and exercise more. How to help those affected at Sandy Hook

In light of the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, we were looking for ways that we can help those affected in some way. In doing a Google search of "ways to help Sandyhook" the fist link to populate was a list posted by USA TODAY. Favorite Brazilian Steakhouse?.....GO!

Over the summer, I got the chance to eat at Texas De Brazil. I instantly fell in love with the flavor of the steaks, lamb, chicken, etc; now I believe I am addicted. I recently tried Fogo De Chao and have to say everything was just as great. I have noticed there are more Brazilian Steak places like Villas Grill, Rafain, Boi Na Braza, just to name a few.
