Happy Independence Day 🎊🇭🇹 #Haiti #Haitian
A local resident puts love hearts and slogans on the plastic that covers offensive graffiti on the vandalised mural of Manchester United striker and England player Marcus Rashford on the wall of a cafe on Copson Street, Withington on July 12, 2021 in Manchester, England. Rashford and other Black players on England’s national football team have been the target of racist abuse, largely on social media, after the team’s loss to Italy in the UEFA European Football Championship last night.
A defaced mural of Marcus Rashford is repaired by the artist Akse P19 on July 13, 2021 in Manchester, England.

This West Point graduate is Alex Idrache. He grew up in a slum in Haiti, and he tells of how U.S. soldiers were deployed to his neighborhood following the earthquake there several years ago. He says their presence was the first experience of “hope” he recalls in his childhood.
He remembers looking at his dad and asking him who the people were that were helping. His dad looked at him and said, “They are American soldiers.” He looked back at his father and said, “One day, I will be an American soldier.”
His father knew the situation in Haiti was unworkable and tried for several years to obtain a visa to come to the United States. After being denied for several years, he was finally granted a spot in Baltimore. He purchased a ticket on a boat for his family and left Haiti.
They arrived and Alex, remembering his dream in the slum several years prior, looked for a way to join the U.S. Army. He found a national guard program that allowed him to join the Army in exchange for citizenship. He didn’t hesitate.
After a series of fortunate occurrences, he was given one of the few spots at West Point for prior enlisted soldiers. Despite his severe lack of formal education, he graduated as an honor graduate (top 5% physically and academically) and the top student in the Physics Department.
The picture above was taken just prior to tossing his hat in the air, the realization of a dream that began 10 years ago in a slum in Port-au-Prince.
Story doesn’t end there. He went on to become a US Army Blackhawk pilot and was recently chosen to attend Marine Expeditionary Warfare School.

“Let’s face it … people and events are going to continue to both hurt and disappoint you. Among the people will be those you most love, as well as those you least know. Seldom is it their intent to purposely hurt you, but rather, a variety of situations mostly beyond your control will cause them to act, speak, or think in ways which can have an adverse effect upon you, your present feelings and emotions, and the way your life upholds. It has been this way through six thousand years of recorded history, and your hurt or grief is not the first time a human has been deeply hurt by the inappropriate actions of another. The only way to avoid being touched by life––the good as well as the bad––is to withdraw from society, and even then you will disappoint yourself, and your imagining about what is going on out there will haunt you and hurt you. Knowing this, there is but one solution that will support you when people and events hurt you, and that is to learn to work harder on your personal growth than anything else. Since you cannot control the weather, or the traffic, or the one you love, or your neighbors, or your boss, then you must learn to control you … the one whose response to the difficulties of life really counts.”
— Jim Rohn

Only read if you want the truth.
Let's first be clear.
"Our" system is not "ours."
It belongs to a few.
Next, let's be clear about this. It has NOT failed.
It has succeeded. This is the way it is SUPPOSED to be. The way it is SET UP to be.
Do you see what I mean? It was never meant to be different.
It was founded on slavery. It has continued on its blood.
A system founded on gross evil and delusion cannot be anything but.
It has ONLY succeeded for those it was meant to protect in the first place. The White. The Male. The Wealthy.
None of what is happening is out of the blue.
It is deliberate. It is intentional. It is real. It is unrelenting.
It is violent. It is evil. It is endorsed. It is condoned. It is generational. It is EVERYWHERE. It is the WAY it is, and always has been.
I speak harshly for many, I know.
It's only harsh for those who don't wish to see the truth.
For those who see the truth, this is not harsh at all.
You see, we humans are creatures of great delusion.
We prefer to not see the truth of our shadow.
And this is why our earth is scorched, our children depressed, our black brothers and sisters decimated.
We prefer to pretend that what is happening with our black brothers and sisters is a "system failure."
It is hard to accept that this isn't a failure, but a system success. It is NOT failing - IT IS WORKING EXACTLY AS IT IS INTENDED TO.
Against Black people.
Against all minorities.
Against all those who are poor and disadvantaged.
Against the mentally ill.
Against women.
THIS is the system we live in folks.
Stop saying its failing.
As long as we say this, we will keep pretending there is a fix.
The ONLY FIX is a complete dissolution of the ENTIRE SYSTEM.
The way out?
Consciousness.
Only when we shift in consciousness will anything change.
Until then, we will keep fixing the surface and never get to the depths.
And the root of the issue will keep growing underground.
Strong as it has ALWAYS been.
You may want to pretend this kind of gross inequality and violence doesn't exist. You may want to pretend it will go away soon. As long as we pretend, it will grow stronger and deeper.
It needs to be named. Every day. Every where. Because it exists every day and every where.
It is a system of delusion, evil, and gross perpetration against Black people.
By not delivering justice for #BreonnaTaylor, it has shown up exactly LIKE IT ALWAYS DOES.
