Starting the course I didnât know quite what to expect, I had taken a graphic communication course before but immediately from the get go I knew that this class was going to be different then any before. The personal objectives for the course was merely to expand my mind about Graphic Design and more importantly, Communication. I did exactly that. The duo of magnificent creative minds from Andy and Karen and the amazing lectures that they held flooded my mind with endless inspiration and helped remind me of different and unique ways to design. If work wasnât so demanding I would have made it to every single lecture as they were my favorite, but every time I did manage to go I soaked it all in. The work shown from Karen and Andyâs personal archives as well as the mixture of historical design, especially Bauhaus, was all phenomenal. As well as the lectures, the studio times with creating type out of shapes and finding type in the structure all expanded my mind and showed me how design can be created anywhere and out of anything, using negative space and colour or the absence of both. Over all an amazing course, hope to have more like this next semester.
