BIRTHDAY PARTY IDEAS

If you’re anything like me, you’d be planning your birthday party (at least) weeks in advance. But before you plan all the details, you first need to choose what kind of party you want to have. So here’s a small list of party ideas.

1. Dance Party- This can be hosted in a house or small hall. The guest list for this should be 30+ depending on how big your location is. For food, you would need to have lots of punch and different varieties of snacks which people can eat in between dances (make sure it’s easy to eat and doesn’t make a mess!). Another great extra touch is strobe or laser lights and a huge playlist of party songs!

2. Sleepover- This is a pretty classic idea but is still lots of fun. At a sleepover, you can host sleepover games, like truth or dare (question ideas for here), give each other makeovers or watch movies and (of course…) just talk! The guest list for this should be a lot smaller than for a dance party, no more than 10 for sure, and for food, the best idea is to just have pizza for dinner (obviously!) and lots of snacks (like lollies, chips, fruit, etc.) along with popcorn for when watching the movies. Also, don’t forget to decide on a delicious breakfast to make in the morning! A list of breakfast recipes/ideas is here. 

3. Movie Night- [This is very similar to a sleepover, it just doesn’t include the sleeping over part.] For a movie night, you pretty much just get either an open area and set up a projector and screen or if it’s for a small group of people, just set up the lounge room with lots of comfy pillows and blankets. Then just pop some popcorn, get together some snacks and watch your favourite movies with your friends! This can be done for small groups (even just you and one other person) or for a bigger group (30-40 people) depending on the size of your area.

4. High Tea or Restaurant- This is a really nice idea for a chance to dress up and eat good food with your friends. You can either go for the high tea or a restaurant meal (you can go for breakfast, lunch or dinner), either would be a great time to just hang around and chat while enjoying delicious foods. The best thing about this is that you don’t have to worry about planning food and entertainment because there’s food is at the restaurant and the entertainment is just chatting away with your friends. There’s also the option of hosting a high tea at your house and the only difference would be that you’d need to pick a theme and figure out the foods you want to have.

5. Murder Mystery Party- I really want to host or attend one of these and it’s a little bit out there but I think it would be so so so much fun! You could have a theme and you can buy murder mystery packages online these days (they’re not too expensive at all!). For food, just have lots of snacks/finger foods and a main meal with lots of drinks for the guests to have while they try to figure out the murderer. The guest list for this is also really variable and can be anywhere from 5 to 100, so when choosing a package just make sure you get one that suits your number of guests.

To this day, years after my transition began, I am still approached and asked, “so… what do you eat?” — I will tell you. First off, veganism is a humanitarian lifestyle adopted by those individuals who wish to live ethically & coincide equally to all of the earth’s inhabitants. By adopting this lifestyle you are: eliminating all animal products from both your lifestyle and your diet, as well as benefiting both you & your environment. 

If you choose to deny the destruction & terror animals face when they are processed into the hamburgers sitting on your dinner plate — then you are only denying the truth. Without going into the gory details of the malpractices hidden by our government, I will instead provide you with a few facts: 

worldwide 60 billion land animals (10 in US) & 90 billion marine animals (18 in US) are killed each year

there is no such thing as happy and humane slaughter just as there is no such thing as happy and human rape, happy and humane slavery, or happy and humane child molestation

In America, each meat, dairy and egg-eater is responsible for the deaths of 3,000 land animals and thousands of other marine animals throughout their lifetime

The US government spends over five hundred million dollars a year advertising these food products which are wasting gallons of precious water, destroying our agriculture and environmental surroundings, harming the living beings we are meant to live AMONG, and destroying the human body.

Sadly this past Monday, August 11, beloved actor Robin Williams passed away at age 63. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that it was suicide.

"He has been battling severe depression of late," said Mara Buxbaum, his media representative via CNN. "This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

Williams leaves behind his wife, Susan Schneider, and three children Zelda Rae Williams, Cody Alan Williams and Zachary Pym Williams. As well as his millions of beloved fans.

Williams is best known for films such as Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji and my personal favorite Dead Poet’s Society.

Williams will not be forgotten and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

HOW TWO LIVE: JESS & STEFF

Jess and Stef Dandon have taken the online world by storm as they’ve gone from a couple of sisters trying to share their outfits with each other to international style icons. Originally their blog, howtwolive, was created as a way to keep in touch when Stef moved from their home in Melbourne to Paris for six months, but soon enough their names became well known amongst Australia’s greatest designers and associated with internationally renowned brands and labels. These two brunette bombshells are known for their quirky and usually matching outfits which are often prints by the same designer styled in their own individual way. 

The two sisters are incredibly close and share everything from clothes to secrets with each other and consequently are often mistaken for twins but are in fact, 4 years apart (21 and 25). Despite the fact that they had no intention of modelling professionally, they’ve now have collaborated with fashion brands such as Windsor Smith, Tigerlily, Princess Polly and Shakuhachi as well as being invited to fashion weeks and other events to showcase their style. They’re self confessed shopaholics but surprisingly don’t own a closet full only designer brands. And because of this, people love them even more as a lot of their items are affordable and able to be not only admired but bought by their followers.

"We would love to dress in high-end brands all the time but they’re so expensive we usually end up with just a designer pair of sunnies here or there."

Sharing their style on howtwolive have taken them overseas to countless cities all around the world and given them opportunities to work with well renowned designers and brands. As a future ambition, they hope to open up the ‘House of Dadon’, a family store where they would run the retail side of things with their brother, Jerome, a barista who would run the café.

All in all, these two girls are an absolute inspiration to thousands of people everywhere and will no doubt go on to do even greater things.

Ed is a British singer, songwriter, producer, guitarist,and actual god. He has worked with a bunch of people in the industry including One Direction, Taylor Swift, Jamie Foxx, Elton John, to name a few. His first album “+ (Plus)” became a huge hit all around the world with his first single “The A Team” being one of the most played songs in 2012.

Choose your perfect shades.

1. Know your face. Look at every part of your face: the way your brows go around your eyes in the most perfect way, the size of your nose and the position of your chin. It all matters. 

2. Determine your face shape.

-Square: Square faces have the same width and length, broad forehead and beautiful strong jaw line, so the ideal eyewear would consist of rounder lenses that will help round out the sharpness of the edges approaching a more balanced look.

-Round: The round face has noticeable curves and less defined angles. In case you are part of the round face team get yourself sunnies with less curves and more angular lines, this will elongate your face and make it look thinner and sharper.

-Oval: Here’s when you know you are the lucky one! People with an oval shaped face literally get the biggest price because any shade will look perfect on your slightly rounded face. So you made it in life if you are part of the team.

-Rectangular: Long and narrow with only a few defined angles. This type of face works amazing with oversized sunglasses and thick frames this will sharpen soft features. Get some inspiration from the Kardashians, they are just on point with the whole oversized shades situation. Avoid small frames.

-Diamond: You have a narrow jawline and forehead and your cheekbones are the widest part of the face. To compliment your high cheekbones get oval frames so that they also feauture gentle curves.

-Heart: Heart.shaped faces are widest at the temples and really narrow at the chin. Cat-eye style or glasses that feature rounded edges are ideal for giving a more balanced and elongated face.

3. Choose the ones for you.

Square: perfect for rectangular and round faces.

Rimless: diamond and heart-shaped faces.

Shield: ideal for round, rectangular, and heart shapes.

Butterly: perfect fit on square and heart.

Aviators: get them for a square or heart shaped face.

Now, what’s next is to throw yourself at the mall and start the hunt before the sun starts to hide behind those winter clouds.
