Brief little analysis post because I’m re-watching Damnation and was thinking about things. I hope in the future, as Capcom continues to fill the gaps in the timeline with CGI movies and shows, we see what happened to Leon between 2006 after ID and 2011 in Damnation. In 2006, Leon seems to be doing alright. He looks healthier than he did in re4– no more dark circles and he’s a bit more “bubbly” for lack of a better word. But when you cut to Damnation, he’s drinking on the job, carrying around a flask, and knocking back shots in rapid succession while arguing with Hunnigan. Something probably happened in the years that are uncounted for, some mission or something heavily traumatic that had a large, negative impact on him.

Like just looking at the visual difference, he just looks more worn out and exhausted like he did in re4r. Obviously, there’s the passage of time and ya know… the fact that 5 years have passed between ID and Damnation, but he goes from relatively ok all things considered to very clearly having issues and I really want Capcom to explore that. I want to see how this wore him down over the years; give me the angst.
