Don Giovanni è uno degli archetipi della nostra cultura, uno dei suoi miti fondatori. E il mito non è una favola inerte, ma una forza attiva e creativa: nutre, secondo una circolarità sorprendente, la stessa cultura che gli ha dato la luce.
Con questo progetto audiovisivo esploriamo l’archetipo ricorrente, spesso mutevole, che si cela sotto il capolavoro di Mozart, costruendo uno spettacolo che adotta un’estetica e un linguaggio contemporanei. La musica di Mozart, oggetto anch’essa di metamorfosi, elettronica, campionata e manipolata, da vecchi vinili e in forma acustica, diventa la base per “evocazioni” letterarie di Don Giovanni, da Tirso de Molina a José Saramago, da Molière a Baudelaire, Hoffmann, Kierkegaard, Byron e molti altri, senza dimenticare il libretto di Lorenzo Da Ponte.
Un carosello sonoro che attraversa tempi, autori e metamorfosi del mito, tra letture, brani cantati e registrazioni storiche di attori: dall’impenitente libertino al dissoluto punito, dal paradiso dei sensi all’inferno della dannazione.

Paolo F. Bragaglia è un compositore elettronico che nasce in un mondo del tutto analogico e si spinge, imperterrito, fino ai nostri giorni digitali. Da sempre intrigato dalla metamorfosi del suono attraverso i generi, nel corso degli anni allarga i suoi interessi verso i rapporti possibili della musica con l'immagine in movimento, la danza, gli spazi architettonici, le arti visive, la parola e il teatro.
Inizia così un’intensa attività di compositore di colonne sonore, sonorizzazioni e spettacoli multimediali, che si affianca all'attività discografica, alla sound-art e alle installazioni sonore. È ideatore e direttore artistico del festival di musica elettroacustica “Acusmatiq”, che si tiene ad Ancona presso la Mole Vanvitelliana da 20 anni, e fondatore e presidente del Museo del Synth Marchigiano.

Don Giovanni is one of the archetypes of our culture, one of its founding myths. And myth is not an inert fable but an active, creative force, it nourishes, in a surprisingly circular way, the very culture that gave it life.
This audiovisual project explores the recurring and often mutable archetype concealed beneath Mozart’s masterpiece, creating a performance that draws on a contemporary aesthetic and language. Mozart’s music itself undergoes metamorphosis — electronic, sampled and manipulated, from old vinyl records to acoustic renditions, serving as the foundation for literary “evocations” of Don Giovanni, from Tirso de Molina to José Saramago, from Molière to Baudelaire, Hoffmann, Kierkegaard, Byron, and many others, as well as the operatic libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte.
A sound carousel that travels through time, authors, and transformations of the myth — with readings, sung passages, and historical actor recordings, from the unrepentant libertine to the punished sinner, from the paradise of the senses to the hell of damnation.

Paolo F. Bragaglia is an electronic composer born in an entirely analog world, who has stubbornly journeyed into our digital age. Ever fascinated by the metamorphosis of sound across genres, over the years he has expanded his interests toward the intersections between music and moving images, dance, architectural spaces, visual arts, spoken word, and theatre.
This has led to an intense career as a composer of film scores, soundtracks, and multimedia performances, alongside record production, sound art, and sound installations. He is the creator and artistic director of the electroacoustic music festival “Acusmatiq”, held for twenty years in Ancona at the Mole Vanvitelliana, and the founder and president of the Museum of the Marchigian Synth.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚?
The Radia Network emerged from a series of meetings, clandestine events, late night club discussions, and a lot of email exchanges between cultural radio producers across Europe. It is producing radio stuff that is hard to describe. Some of it can be labelled radio art, or experimental radio, or creative radio. Sometimes it talks, sometimes it doesn’t. It can be noisy, or a kind of soundscape, or a documentary, a document, a talk, a performance. Each and every week, one of the partners provides the network program, commissioned and produced especially for this purpose: being broadcast by all the partners and made available online.
