First person shooters suck a lot [and it's hard to innovate]
First of all I must say I’m a gamer. A long life game lover. I started play fps the first time with quake 1: it was just too amazing. After years of point and click games and platforms, the first time I see a 3d world where enemies comes from all the direction I just can’t believe to my eyes.
I still remember my friends which where sayin’: “this kind of games will have no future! They give you headhaches!”
20 years later, I must say they have mistaken a little.
But by the way, it’s 20 years we are playing the same kind of stuff.
Ok, now the graphics is so photorealistic that you can easily think you’re in a movie, not in a game.
Now the physic engines and the weapons makes your hit more real than reality.
But in the end the gameplay is the same. Shoot in the head, fast than the others..
Kill to not be killed.
I’ve started to think – as player – we deserve more from this genre.
That’s when we get the idea to bring this in the reality. And we start to code uwar - the multiplayer first person shooter in real life in Augmented Reality.
It’s better to play with friends and it’s more healthy to run and jump and shoot in the real life instead of pushing our fingers on a joypad!
But It’s hard to innovate in a 20 years old stagnant market. Mobile games companies are far more interested in casual games. Pc & console mobile games companies have fear to change the rules.
VC in the games markets like to do what actually works(ed): copycatting cowclicks games in zynga's sauces.
But as a lot of coders and entrepreneur we don’t give it up and we reach to have a working beta. And you know how hard it is, without fund.
Fortunately it’s 2012, and internet give us so much power: now we are crowdfunding Uwar through symbid.com, an online platform where companies and individuals can submit an idea (proposition) for which they seek funding. You can become an investor from as little as €20 or you can invest (much) more!
So if you hackers and gamers think that it’s the right moment to change the way games are played you can be a hero too, going directly to our symbid page and make the revolution happen in the first person shooters world!
Uwar will change dramatically the way you see at fps: there’s a real world outside looking for new heroes: you!
Ps: don't forget to download the android uwar beta and sign up in the warfare social network to find new friends! See you in the battlefield!
