MIL is taking Bebé and I out to lunch at our friend's restaurant today.

I'm so excited to eat tasty food! I just hope the nap schedule aligns easily and she doesn't refuse to nap at all. It will be easier for us all if she does! Haha.

This weekend is her first birthday! We are having friends over for a backyard BBQ and cake. Hopefully we have good weather and air quality! If not we will cancel bc we are not up for having that many people inside.

On this day in 1969, the Apollo 11 mission landed on the Moon. 🌙 And back on Earth, an estimated 600 million people watched this historic moment live on television—roughly one-fifth of the world’s population at that time! The mission had three crew members: Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Collins piloted the craft that would return them to Earth, while Armstrong and Aldrin became the first two people ever to walk the Moon’s surface.

They have tours designed for younglings and care givers at the Legislature. So, as a sort of research and reconnaissance initiative I took Bebé on one this morning.

It was fun! We had a nice little tour and I got to kinda snoop a little on how it works. I also got some nice basic factoids to use as needed should I get an interview. I'd really like to get an interview!

The weather was awful tho. It poured on us just as we started walking to the train. And it's so humid and warm I was physically miserable the entire time. Just a hot damp mess.

It was strangely exhausting? I feel like I got hit by a truck I'm so, SO tired now. I was also literally sweating through my clothes when we got home. The waistband of my linen pants was very wet. My hair was also full of moisture, like my scalp was wet to the touch and damp enough to moisten a towel. Ugh I hate humidity.

Then Bebé wouldn't nap despite being obviously tired. So we had lunch and she just went to sleep very easily.

I'm still exhausted but no longer damp. I'll take the dry heat again please. This weather sucks. I hate it. Bah humbug.

Happy Moon Landing Day! ❤️👩‍🚀🌛

The roses I planted in honor of my baby's birth are blooming beautifully.

Bebé, in her infinite wisdom, refuses to nap more often these days. I'm not sure what's up. We don't really try to force her bc that is futile and only upsets us all.

But she does need to nap!

Hopefully she gets enough activity to fall asleep this afternoon.

Going to a close friend's bday party this afternoon. I'm excited to see friends and for Bebé to see her friends too. We have a wonderful friend group.

We were going to bike to our friend's bc it's so close! But alas it is raining all day. I'm pretty bummed. I really wanted to do that!!!

Well, at least we will still get a great meal (Persian food!) and see our great friends. I'm just being a baby about not getting to stick to the plan.
