Introduction
With the Xbox One now being available without Kinect for $399, Iâve wondered how the Xbox One will function and navigate without having the powerful voice commands (which I LOVE).
So⊠being the gamer, UX/UI Designer and Xbox fanboy that I am (I have two Xbox Ones⊠not sure if...

Caux Collective Introduces: Valentine Ruhry
This stunningly simple installation piece named âHello Worldâ was built and showcased in 2011 by Austrian Visual Artist, Valentine Ruhry. Whilst the images available of this piece are certainly limited, the possibilities for interaction arenât. The formation of activated light switches, when presented at The Austian Culture Forum in New York, read âhello worldâ from which this previously untitled piece gains its pseudonymous title. However, with hundreds of switches, this piece naturally evokes playful thoughts, inviting each viewer in to interact with it and create their own piece of art.
If you would like to see more of Valentine Ruhryâs artwork, featuring a whole host of multidisciplinary projects, tackling illustration and sculpture, head over to his website, linked at the beginning of this post.

âLuciferous Logolepsyâ by Charlotte Halsey
The Luciferous Logolepsy series is inspired by Charlotte Halseyâs love of words. She has built up a beautifully detailed alphabet with each letter representing a chosen word which in turn influences the decoration of the letter. Each is a hand cut collage and must have required a lot of patience!
I saw this selection from the series at the Central Saint Martins degree show, where she deservedly won the London Graphic Centreâs âBest in Show Awardâ. I took the opportunity to photograph some of the detail to demonstrate the time and effort that went in to each piece. Looking at her work at this scale, itâs clear that Charlotte is exceptionally disciplined and highly talented.
Definitely one to watch in the future.
Further details about her work can be found on her website: charlottehalsey.co.uk
