Sarcoscypha coccinea, commonly known as the scarlet elf cup, scarlet elf cap, or the scarlet cup, is a species of fungus in the family Sarcoscyphaceae of the order Pezizales. It can be red or white on the outside from what I’ve read and some people believe it is edible, but I wouldn’t chance it and I’d say it’s inedible.
