Fav Fic: Kick At the Darkness
I can’t even remember how I found this fic, but I can say that I’m so invested in it, just because of how well it’s done 8D I’ve never seen Dirty Dancing, but apparently that’s what it’s inspired by/channels a bit of? Even without having seen the film, I really enjoy the mood/setting that the author sets up. There’s a subtle line of tension due to the content and time period, and the historical notes/references makes me feel like I’m back in HS/Uni doing annotated reading again! It’s got that “literature” feel to it, I can’t explain how…but YEAH, I VERY MUCH ENJOY READING THIS ONE! PLEASE GO LET THE AUTHOR KNOW THAT YOU DO AS WELL! (once you read it, that is!)
