This Tumblr page curates news on the 2014 midterm elections in Virginia from news outlets throughout the Commonwealth. The goal of this page is to give a comprehensive overview on election related news on a daily basis until Election Day on November. The page is maintained by an undergraduate journalism course at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Mass Communications. This “iPadJournos” project is an intensive capstone class, in which undergraduate journalism students utilize social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube to report on important events and issues.

Eric Cantor, along with seven Republican congressmen in Virginia are planning to apeal the federal court's ruling that said state legislators had gerrymandered districts to their advantage. The 3rd district, currently under Democrat Bobby Scott, has had the black majority since the 90's because district lines have been drawn to pack black voters into that one district. The current boundaries are safe for this election, but plans to redraw them are in the works for April.
