so i forgot that i had a ziploc w gall specimens in it in my pocket so today at work i went huh whats this and then pulled a ziploc containing multiple live wasps out of my vest

" Curiosity is costly. Did you think me one of your realms wild creatures?"

" Those days are long gone. Look up me and tremble! Behold my murderous splendour! I am a son of the Strongest of All Gods. Pick of the litter! And you--"

He points an accusing finger at Vail.

" You look like you would taste good skinned and salted. " A snort, " Men are the only prey-things that would walk right up to their predators. Shall I show you the error of your ways?"

"Woah, woah, now hoooold on!" Vail stammers, holding out both hands with both pen and journal still held. "I'm flattered you think I would taste good, buuuuut!" There was so much to unpack here that they were going to have to address the misgendering later; half of what he said answered some of their questions, but the other half was very, very concerning. And perhaps if they keep talking or ask some questions, he'll hold off on eating them a bit longer.

"First of all, I did not assume you a wild or domesticated creature!” They state plainly before continuing, "From your appearance, I thought you a warrior god or daemon of some kind, and it doesn't seem like I was too far off the mark... however!"

Now came the parts that were of great concern. "What do you mean by 'my realm' and 'long gone'?" A question asked with concern and worry in voice and on face. "Is this not Earth? Where or when are we?" Did they somehow cross into a different world or timeline? It isn't as if they're unfamiliar with the concept of time travel or the multiverse, but they were just that — unproven concepts!

If you asked Vail which animal they’re bewildered by, it would be the pelican. Please imagine a constant stream of “What do you have in your mouth?” “Just because it fits in your mouth, doesn’t mean it’s food!” “Oh okay we’re just turning ourselves inside out now, all right”
