PANDORA’s second full album MONSTER’S NOTE: You & I is their first comeback of 2018 and their final addition to the trilogy, Monster’s Note. With its two title tracks and two disk format, the comeback follows a ‘good end/bad end’ scheme, where each disk and title track shows alternate endings to the story that started during the first part of the Monster’s Note series in 2017. While the ‘bad ending’ disk, ‘You,’ shows YEON-A becoming trapped once again and attempting to escape with the rest of the girls only to find that they’re stuck for eternity, the ‘good ending’ disk, ‘I,’ contains a story in which they all escape together and track down the reasons they were all trapped in the first place.

In the wake of their rising popularity following the release of BLACK SWAN, the title song from MONSTER’S NOTE: DEMISE that brought home a #1 win for our monsters, PANDORA has chosen to feature two title tracks from this album, one from each disc. The first title track, ‘I KNEW,’ talks about a girl blaming another guy for her heartbreak, trapping herself in the mentality of never finding love because of people like him. ‘YOU THINK,’ the second title track, tells the story of a girl who acknowledges that a guy didn’t treat her right, but it won’t stop her from living how she wants.

As a tribute to their debut mini album, PANDORA releases a teaser with Intro: Awakening as the audio. The first half of the teaser shows individual shots of the members, coupled with conceptual shots that show a lighter theme compared to the first teaser. As the audio transitions to the beat drop, the MV concept suddenly changes into something darker and more powerful, accompanied by the group’s usual strong choreography. Each member is seen again, this time posing with a bat. The two teasers each show different stories for our monster group. Are you excited to see both stories?

[180219] PANDORA’S YEON-A SPOTTED RETURNING TO SEOUL, ANNOUNCED AS NEW MODEL FOR BRAND L&M

After nearly a month spent in Los Angeles, Yeon-A of Pandora was spotted by fans in Incheon Airport. While waiting for her bags, she took the time to pose for photos and answer questions before the group’s manager ushered the fans away. The idol clarified that her trip was not work related, and was simply to visit family and enjoy some time off while Pandora’s schedules were still light. She wasn’t able to reveal any information about a future Pandora comeback or its concept, but she did hint at the fact that she had exciting news coming up.

Though many Monsters were anticipating another solo comeback for the main vocal, instead DM Records announced that Yeon-A would be modeling for the Korean expansion of a Los Angeles based clothing and cosmetics company called Lait&Miel, or L&M for short. No other models have been revealed as of yet, but in future weeks more information will be revealed about L&M’s upcoming S/S line.

DM RECORDS RELEASES FIRST EVER COMPANY HOLIDAY ALBUM

For the first time since the company’s opening in November 2008, DM Records has released a holiday album featuring songs from their various artists. Groups such as Spiced, L:OVELESS, reBØL, Pandora, Orpheus, AST✫RAL, and upcoming debut group HYPE have participated, along with soloists under the label and even actors. Physical copies and digital downloads of the album are available for purchase, and CEO Han Jiyoung has previously announced that their participating artists would be hosting a V-Live on December 22nd to perform their songs and interact with fans.

Fans have requested a company-wide holiday album for years now, and those that have waited are far from disappointed with the release. Many are impressed with the number of original songs and tastefully done covers of classics, both in English and Korean. Though not all artists were able to participate, efforts were made to ensure the inclusion of actors, models, trainees and even Spiced member Minni who recently departed from the group and company. For both enthusiastic fans and casual listeners alike, the album has been a perfect addition to the holiday season.

PANDORA RELEASES THIRD MINI ALBUM AS SECOND INSTALLATION TO THE MONSTER’S NOTE SERIES

The ‘party monster’ girl group PANDORA is back after their April comeback, releasing a mini-album that ties to the previous album’s concept. MONSTER’S NOTE - DEMISE is the second in the series, with an emphasis on the ‘monster’ side of the group’s main concept due to it’s darker-themed tracks and lyrics.

“BLACK SWAN” is the title track of DEMISE. While the beat reflects melancholy in its slightly off-pitch tone, the lyrics go from self-reflective to even desperate during the chorus. The lyrics tell a continuation of the story told in “U LIAR” from the last album. The girl from the previous song seems to be breaking free of her ‘delusions’ of blaming herself and thinking that the breakup was her fault, growing frantic to find a way for her past lover to stay with her.

PANDORA DROP THEIR MV FOR DEMISE’S TITLE TRACK ‘BLACK SWAN’!

PANDORA comes out with a stunning MV for title track “Black Swan” off their new album, DEMISE! The MV has an overall dark theme throughout the video. These dark scenes portray the girls living through their nightmares of their lover abandoning them. The style of the title track is not the hard-hitting EDM that PANDORA became known for, but it still has a powerful rhythm in its bass. YEON-A is seen traveling to the other girls’ dreams in an attempt to rescue them from their delusions.

Each member appears to be in some sort of interweaving nightmare, waiting to be saved by someone (possibly YEON-A). With each member appearing to be trapped within the same house, it shows them at varying levels of escaping. Exa and Rubi find themselves trapped in a desert after escaping the house together, and eventually get separated. The lead vocalist and lead dancer of the group (member to be added) as well as member SØL appeared to have escaped the house as well, but ended up in a forest scene, SØL waiting by the entrance for help while the other member went in deeper and inevitably went insane. Members Sam and Soyi stayed within the house, showing some sort of positions of power over the domain. YEON-A, who started off by watching the nightmares and struggles of each member eventually leaves in an attempt to save the maknae, who was shown to have fallen into an oasis and transported into a version of the house filled with water. 

Between these scenes are different dance scenes, showing the members of PANDORA in black tight dresses with flowing skirts, which show a class that PANDORA hadn’t shown before and work well with the choreography. The ending of the MV shows all the members walking away from the same peephole Yeon-A looked through at the start of the music video, leaving it vague on whether they escaped or were still trapped in the house.

Up next is the teaser set for YEON-A, the glamour monster. She’s sporting the same simple yet elegant black dress as the other two members revealed. Her other dress, however, is sequined, like the lead vocalist’s dress, and shows a more youthful side to the concept. PANDORA RELEASE THE MV TEASER FOR TITLE TRACK BLACK SWAN!

The teaser, containing the same mysterious intro from the album highlight shows member Yeon-A peering through a peephole in a wall, only to witness each of the members in a ‘nightmare-like’ delusion. Both Yeon-A and Rubi are seen in a watery scene, with members Sam and Soyi appearing seductively as if to lure someone in, while member  SØL appears within a dark scene, the lead vocalist and dancer in a snowy scene surrounded by dead trees, and leader Exa surrounded by a vast space background. After that shows some of the key choreography along with other scenes within the music video.

After months of solo activities, special performances, and surprise releases, PANDORA finally releases a comeback teaser on their official Twitter:

Earlier this morning, Ski∀ posted a short clip of herself and Pandora’s Soyi (@95soyi) goofing off in one of the practices rooms at DM Records. The pair is showing dancing around, each taking turns to ‘battle’ before the music plays.

Fans pointed out a comeback might be coming soon since the soloist hair seemed to be shorter but Ski∀ informed everyone that it was just a wig to ‘remember the old days’ and added that dancing with Soyi was something they needed after so long.
