slipping a hand under the table he placed it on her thigh, drawing circles with his index finger as he did so. “oooh, that was petty. what’ve i done now princess?” he spoke almost in a whisper to the girl beside him. running his free hand through his hair as he glanced over to the director, smiling and nodding to make it look as if he knew what was going on. when in reality he had no idea where he even was.

valentina pulled her leg bag, crossing them the other way so it seemed like she was simply recrossing her legs than trying to get her body away from sammy. “nothing,” she whispered from the corner of her mouth with her eyes faced forward at the director going over the shooting schedule. “i’m fine, just pay attention,” she whispered, in disbelief that she even had to say that.

shaking his head he stood up, after his manager had signalled him to enter the meeting room. “how about we listen to this bullshit then go and get food, i hope you have your car cause i’m high as fuck.” he whispered in her ear before holding his hand out for the girl. taking her hand he moved into the meeting room, sitting as far away from the directors as possible. “i’m gonna tease you the whole time we’re in here cause it’s funny as fuck.” his chuckle was childlike as he picked up the glass of water from the table, downing it in one as he patted his lips together, his mouth still dry.

valentina couldn’t help but chuckle because she didn’t know how she’d gotten herself into this situation. she didn’t do this - get drunk, get high, all the things that sammy clearly did. she took his hand reluctantly to follow him into the meeting room, looking around at the cast and the new crew they’d be working with. “shhhh,” she shushed him with furrowed eyebrows, hitting the side of his lap gently as the meeting started. “no teasing,” she warned him, throwing him a glance. “you’ve done enough.”

“that’s fuckin sick.” he put his arm around the girl, leaving a kiss on the top of her head as he removed his arm to finish off his chips. “why’re you so quiet, seemed like you never shut up when we were filming last.” the boy raised his foot and balanced it on his knee, his eyes glancing over the girl as a smirk displayed itself on his features. “think we should ditch this meeting and go to get in n out.” he scrunched up his packet and threw it into the trash can, woo’ing for himself when it landed inside it.

she tried not to struggle too much as he pulled her close. they’d gotten along fine before all of this, but now she couldn’t help but think about how she’d gotten drunk enough -- that one time -- to lose her virginity to him. and she hadn’t even remembered. she still couldn’t remember. “s’nothing,” val shrugged her shoulders. after all, as far as he was concerned, she didn’t care about sleeping around. that was the image she had created for herself. “yeah, it’ll be fun,” she nodded - but ditching meetings, that actually wasn’t in her bones. “you just had a burger,” she scrunched her nose, chuckling slightly as she shook her head, “plus, they could have some important information.”

taking a sip of his drink the boy arched a brow, muttering “heathens.” before sitting down on the couch as he let his manager speak to the others involved. “i hope the girls who play enchantress and harley are hot, plus i mean the joker and harley have gotta get it on eventually.” his laugh dragging on as he eventually came to a stop, reaching into his backpack as he began eating a pack of chips. “wait, why’re you here babe?” his eyebrows rose as the crunch of his food felt like the loudest thing in the room.

if she thought there had been a pit in her stomach when he first walked in, well, there was an even deeper one now as he muttered the project name. it was the same one she was here for. and that was the role she had booked. she couldn’t seem to form words, however, and she stayed silent, crossing her smooth legs even tighter together as the nerves built up. “i’m playing the enchantress,” valentina finally told him in response to his question, turning her head to look at him properly for the first time.

after putting a scarce amount of eyedrops into his eyes- under his managers orders, the boy blinked rapidly to make himself look as normal as possible. he’d been called in to talk about the new deal he’d made for a spin-off of suicide squad. his co-stars weren’t yet released and this was his time to find out who he would be working along. a slight smile on his features as he entered shine hq he walked slowly alongside his manager- his head in another world. turning to the sound of a familiar voice he spotted val not too far away, walking over to her as he buried his hands into the pockets of his jeans. “meeting my co-stars, what about you sweet pea?” his voice was softer and nicer than usual.

her eyes narrowed as she calculated his words. there was no one else in the office except those involved with this project. and now that he was standing in front of her, she remembered he was, after all, the joker in the upcoming movie. but, they could easily cast someone else for the show, right? it wouldn’t be smart, but it was doable. valentina stared at him for a moment, her brain churning rapidly as she thought through what he meant. “co-stars for what?” she asked, though she had a burning feeling that she already knew the answer.
