#GOD. mdzs is such a perfect time capsule of my late teens to early 20s like i was INTO IT from ages 18-22 #and looking back as. someone now in my mid 20s (😭) there is a sense of fondness and nostalgia for it #even tho mdzs was probably one of my worst fandom experiences ever i did have a lot of fun and Talked To People #which i hadnt done since i was in middle school #thats not to say i had no blame in the experience i had. i def was seeking out things to get mad abt and thats my fault #but i dont think i regret mdzs esp considering how much i drew ??? i cant remember the last time anything inspired me to draw that much #im rly tired nowadays from work and life so maybe ive got rose tinted glasses on abt it lol #i dont like a lot of my old art at all but reading the tags is like. wow ppl actually liked it.#and still like it! i still get the occasional notif in 2026! just crazy to think abt

they're not super common but i really do appreciate characters who are introduced as one gender and later revealed to be closeted trans. i like that it challenges the audience to really think about how they perceive trans people because realistically not every trans person you meet is going to be out to you at first. yes we introduced this character as a man and now we're asking you to reframe her as a woman after you've already gotten to know her. can you be normal about that? can you be normal when it happens to people you know in real life? i hope you can.

I've been really into this game called Grimshire, so I'm doodling some fan art! Honestly, what a stellar game, I 100% recommend. I like the characters and love the vibe. It's a farming game but with stakes. Could be a lil stressful but easiest mode is there too. Also there are cute slug and moth critters ✨

Just today I got to see a chess book that I remember reading as a little kid. While it didn't give me a lifelong passion for chess, it did give me a lifelong passion for fantasy for its artwork.

The book is "Chess for Young Beginners" from 1975, and here's some of the artwork:

Like, this artwork goes hard. I especially appreciate the colour scheme for the black pieces, with its browns, bronzes, reds and oranges.

This artwork is amazing, evocative, exciting and dramatic. I recommend giving it a look if you have a chance - you can probably scrounge up a PDF of this thing with a bit of searching.
