Not another party, something Maya had to take control of since that’s all she had been doing the past few weeks. No, instead some of the girls suggested brunch, and she actually agreed. Over the past couple of months, Valerie had officially settled into her life as a college student. Classes were getting increasingly harder, the sorority was a lot more responsibility than she expected but she knew it would be a good network once she had graduated. She had made a sturdy group of friends. Basically, she was living the life she had always dreamed as a student off on her own and couldn’t have been happier about it. With her hair pulled back in her signature pony tail, Val got out of the car, stopping only when her friend, Jeremy who was gay as gay could be, had to stop in order to pull his phone out of his pocket. A brow was raised immediately when she realized the blonde had recognized her. It was surprising because she remembered the blonde had a bit to drink, but it was also good knowing that the other had not forgotten her. A smile played across her lips at the teasing remark. “Then don’t pinch me, i’d rather not wake up from this high.” she teased in return only to nod when the blonde explained how she was the designated driver. “That’s very noble of you, how many girls are you here with?” Alright, in all honesty, she was wondering if she had showed up with her boyfriend or just the girls from her sorority. “You don’t have to tell me twice, but before my words begin slurring, i’m Maya.” they needed a proper introduction and this was as good as time as any–despite the loud music. “– And if i’m being honest right now, i’d love a large cheese pizza with extra cheese than alcohol so if you find food– preferably pizza, you have my name.” As lame as an attempt was at selling that intro, she was also hungry so if the blonde did find food, hell she’d be the happiest through out the night.

Valerie’s nose scrunched in a laugh, her eyes darting around the room as she looked for other familiar faces that might see them together “I don’t make it too much of a habit to drink, anyway” she confessed, full attention back on the girl “Four other pledges from the dorms. We don’t actually get to live in the sorority until next year. My boyfriend is supposed to make an appearance before his bible study” considering what the three had done together, that sentence was incredibly ironic. Instantly, Val held her hand out in order to take Maya’s. It was cordial, maybe a little too formal with all thing considered. But that was, more or less, who she really was when she hadn’t spent the night drinking “Valerie Jacobs. Spring break didn’t have much going on for Maya, not when most of her thoughts went back to the party a few weeks back. She understood she would never be seeing that blonde again, but damn, did she miss her. Odd right? To miss someone she barely knew?  It was like any other college party for Maya–and she had been to many parties over the past year.
