Enjolras nods as he begins to chop up the already peeled garlic. He’s incredibly focused as he’s doing it, as he is with any task he takes on - even if it’s as simple as chopping.

“Is that a bad thing?” Possibly the wrong question to ask to the wrong question. “I don’t want to leave this world knowing I did nothing better it. I see the potential of our country and I want to do everything in my power to see it prosper.” Spoken like a politician, a passionate one at that. It was made clear then that Enjolras had his eyes set on running for office.

“I’m not fun” Funny, maybe. Slightly, once you got to know him. “I don’t know what Joly saw in me.”

“To be no fun?” She smiled at him with a shrug, shaking her head at the idea. She definitely thought it was but she didn’t believe her son would really choose to be with someone as boring as Enjolras claimed himself to be. If anything, Bastien probably made sure they had fun.

“That’s very noble of you but you care for other things too, oui? Like my son.” She was prodding just a little but she didn’t mean any harm in it. “And I’m sure that you’re more fun then you give yourself credit for. I’m having decent fun cooking with you.”
