Since it's free agency season, I've been thinking about how Ilya going from Boston to Ottawa would have been a huge deal. He's a number 1 draft pick, all star center, captain, league MVP, and Stanley Cup winner. Going from the team that drafted you and you've won with to a team that's nowhere near cup contention is insane.

He would have to have some prepared PR statements ready because there would be endless commentary and analysis. It would have to be something like "I believe I've achieved everything I can with Boston and am leaving the team in good hands" and "I'm looking forward the the challenge that Ottawa presents".

It's also a question he probably won't be able to shake. Ilya Rozanov's challenge of bringing Ottawa up around him is going to come up over and over until he (and Shane) win them a Cup. Then it'll be part of Ilya lore forever.

not all of us can live in fantasy 100% the time like i see some people on here do and it's refreshing to learn something new. its been philosophy, essays, and history for me and i feel much more at home on planet Earth for it knowing that people have been struggling and wishing similarly for millenia.

its not that fiction doesnt have its place, its important and healthy to exercise the imagination, but non-fiction can do so much to boost and supplement that. if not for yourself, for your art or for the people you're around
