I spent nearly five hours shopping today. Five hours. I don’t know how Paris and Aspen do this every day. There were so many shoes, if I see another pump I might faint.
I don’t know how any person in their right mind could spend that long shopping for one day, let alone everyday. You should tell your friends to slow it down.
Me? Busy? I sit around and sell pastries all day, it doesn’t get any busier than this. I guess I can spare a few hours for you, as long as we go to that little pizza joint we used to go to. Or else I’ll stay in this very spot, possibly throw a tantrum. —I don’t happen to be a big fan of surprises and this is more than surprising. Do you need a place to stay? I’m sure I can talk some sense into Charlie. Have you seen him? Elysium? —..I’m rambling, but I’ve missed you!
That’s all? They don’t have you baking in that back or anything? Don’t the people around here know the St James’ are valuable players in business? I bet, if you wanted, we could make that bakery yours. Then she could sit around selling pastries all day while you run the joint ---- is there any other place that I would take you? C’mon, Nov, I know better. Ah, yeah-- yeah, I talked to both of them. Elysium didn’t recognize me and Charlie-- let’s just say it’d be best to stay with Brooklyn or at another hotel. Besides, that’s the other part of the surprise, I won’t be needing a place to stay for long because I’ve been looking at my own place. Guess you could say I’m sticking around.
There she is -- It looked so busy up in the front, I didnt think your boss was gonna let you off, but she was actually really nice about me asking to take my little sister, who I havent seen in a while, to lunch.

There wasn’t a single moment where I didn’t miss you — I know that I’ve probably said it a hundred times but the road has not been the same without you, B. And a few days ago, I realized that I had to come home, fix the things that matter— how’ve you been? Good?
The words carelessly falling from your lips make implications that contradict your I’m not a crazy stalker sentence. And though your words encourage faint, tinkling bells in the back of my mind, I am incapable of connecting the line that you have so eloquently drawn for yourself. To be blunt, what are you on about and who are you?
Wow-- guess it’s impossible to ask for a do over here even though I completely screwed the whole perfect scenario in my head before now ---- you really don’t recognize me? Nothing about me rings a bell? We do look a like a bit although Charlie and I look the most alike whereas you and Nova look similar to one another.
Have you ever sat behind a water fall — the centre of zen, you can feel it falling and it’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, you’re the other living thing that is there — you can feel all the energy absorbing into you. I got absolutely covered in water… all I meant to do was go charge some of my favourite crystals that haven’t seen sun in a while.

You know-- I had this whole well-rehearsed speech because I know how much you love seeing my attempts at being a romantic, but then I got here and there was no answer. And now you’re here and I see you and I just-- I’m rendered speechless... I don’t even remember what I was going to say, this is embarrassing.
Your sin shall be over looked for the sheer purpose that I fully believe that there is power and enlightenment to be found in being lost in your own thought. I can only apologise for putting such deep thoughts on hold. The girl that you have been looking for? Everybody is looking for me, stranger. They just don’t know it yet. However, you do, which leaves me both curious and filled with a sense of pity.
Aha-- you’re confident. That’s good, very good. I hope you still haven’t settled for anyone or anything less than you deserve ---- We’ve met before, you know. And you don’t have to worry, I’m not some crazy stalker. I’m quite the opposite, really.

Dark eyes browsed over the computer screen, numbers and registrations —- he was looking to expand his hotel, another one more in the Manhattan area, though this one got a lot of business; the clientele would just open up so much more if he brought it close to the blur of a city. His hand was pressed tightly too his face, running it along the roughness of his jaw; tired eyes now strained from reading over so many numbers, a pick me up would have been great right about now, a coffee a smoke — that’s what he’d go do, he’d go to grab some air, and have a smoke, let it pervade his lungs so it wasn’t stuffy office air. Smoothing his hands over his black suit jacket, he pushed his way out the door of his office and to the elevator to go up to the roof, his pack pressed between two fingers, and he watched the ground before him; counting the second till the elevator landed in front of him, he knew exactly how many. The ding echoed out, and he brought his head back up; facial recognition tells us, that even if we met someone when we were a child… we still know them years later, they’re burned in your memory relentlessly, like a running film from your past — it’s hard to burn it out. “Who let you up here?” He asked cooly, as though his voice could cease water, “no one paged up.” Charlie looked back at his office down the hall, still cracked open, he would have heard the phone go off.
Ten whole years. It’s been ten years since Valentin has stepped foot anywhere near Griffintown, let alone New York. And the truth was, he didn't regret that one bit. After loosing the house and their parents-- he just couldn't deal and the only solution was to flee, leaving his younger siblings behind. It was a selfish thing to do-- he knew that. But he loved them nonetheless and secretly kept in touch with their nanny and family friends. That was how he was let past security, allowed in the areas not even employees were allowed without permission.
Valentin now rest his back against the mirror with his hat in his hands. Glancing to the side, the man fixed his long messy locks a bit and brushed some lint off of his t-shirt. He felt nervous to be doing this as he wasn’t sure what to expect, but when the doors opened, revealing a very grown up Charlie St James, the reaction felt right. Charlie, Nova and Elysium had every right to be angry, hate him even. “St James’ always find their way around obstacles, Charlie, I know you remember that,” he replied in an even tone, waiting a moment before exiting the doors to stand before his brother. “Guess even your older brother has to page up to see you, huh?” Valentin looked at Charlie closely, remaining quiet at first before starting again, “you look good! The hotel looks incredible -- Mom and dad would be proud. I know I am.” He says glancing at the interior of the room, his smile small on his lips, but never fading nor growing.
