What's a Bang and how does it work?
During this event, creators will be trading their works and making art inspired by others'!
The event is split into two: during the first creation period, artists will make a Valzhang work (visual art or writing). It can be anything, any idea or concept the artist wants.
Then the art gets swapped around. During the second creation period, every participant receives a work created by another person during the first half, and they create another work based on it. Depicting a scene from it, making concept art of it, writing a story based on it, etc.
So in short, every person creates two works and receives a "gift" inspired by the first one. If you wrote a fic, you'll receive a companion art piece; if you drew art, you'll receive a companion fic!
What's the schedule?
June 9 - June 31: Sign-ups
July 1 - September 1: First creation period
September 2: First work submission
September 3 - November 3: Second creation period
November 5: Final posting!
What are the rules?
Please keep all works relatively SFW (no explicit sexual content, or graphic violence/gore, for example).
Every fic is expected to be at least 1k words, in English, and with grammar sufficient enough to be comprehensible.
Every art piece is expected to be finished/sufficiently cleaned. The definition of this is subjective and differs case-by-case, so there are no strict standards; just be sensible and make your own judgment about it.
If you need an extension for your work, please let me know at least three days before the deadline of the submissions.
Avoid discussing or posting your work before the final posting date. During the submissions, your work is sent to me personally. Fics can be sent through a PDF/text file. Any image file is fine for art.
If you have a problem with the work you've been paired with, let me know as early as possible so something can be figured out with other participants.
On the day, if posting your works on Tumblr, tag with "vzbang2026".

it's an AU where ochako is loosely based on robert. as uravity she was a very celebrated hero until a fight with the villain himiko toga leaves her unable to fight for a while. unwilling to just take a break, ochako becomes a dispatcher for the phoenix program, a program dedicated to reforming supervillains. one of those being himiko.
in this AU pro-heroes have more concealed identities so himiko doesn't know that ochako is uravity. of course ochako is aware of himiko's identity, though.
i'm still unsure whether to make it a longer fic with a proper plot or maybe just a one-shot but their dynamic would be all about ochako helping himiko as she adjusts to a more law-abiding life. as well as the mixed feelings she has with himiko not knowing her true identity and talking about her love for "Uravity" like she's not right in front of her.
also probably endeavor/ochako interactions because um i want to see my faves interact... lmao #noshame. and endeavor is definitely the kind of person who has to redeem himself in a lot of ways too so that might tie back into the theme of the phoenix program.
it's definitely more of a loose AU that doesn't completely follow the plot or character archetypes of the original dispatch game but yeah! i drew some art for it a few months back
you are completely right and i like that it can go both ways! however i am distracted by the fact that whoever made the original post seems to ship fuji and oguri. fuji and oguri?? have they ever interacted??
what kind of music do you think frank listens to. realistically
hm, i don't think frank is much of a music guy. he doesn't hate it or anything like he definitely enjoys listening but i don't think he considers himself a particular fan of any artist and he doesn't go out of his way to listen to it often. he does stuff in silence, or at least as much silence as you can get when there are voices in your head.
so generally i think he listens to whatever hazel and leo like to listen to. whenever they recommend him something he listens to that and he likes that. (i think hazel likes jazz, r&b, rock; leo likes hip hop, rap, pop, generally upbeat stuff, but also classical music.) frank himself is partial to rock too, on the rare occasion he's listening to anything on his own: Muse, Fall Out Boy, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, etc. i don't think he's very fond of metal or anything too extreme though.
this was a really fun question, thanks for asking it! i'm curious to know others' opinions on what frank's music taste is like.
