I apologize if you get this question alot but why exactly did you cancel Rory indefinitely? I'm a newer fan and I've be scouring the internet for a reason as the last post on Tapas was love towards it. It's been many years but I do love Rory and seeing as you still do comics I'm just curious why it seems to have become a dead passion project while you focus on bigger ones. Do you plan to ever reboot it or is it in the past?

hi there! i'm really glad to hear you've enjoyed it even though it's been in purgatory for so long ^^;

it ended up on indefinite hiatus for a few reasons. it was a project i started immediately after graduating college (literally the very next day!) while i was still trying to get my work situation figured out and had a lot more free time to work on it. originally it was meant to be a lot shorter but (no doubt because of my inexperience) i drastically underestimated the length and kind of ended up in over my head with it. once it reached the point where it went on hiatus, i was feeling burned out and my skill level ended up mismatched with how RORY looked and was made. i thought i'd try working on it alongside a new project to see if that helped me channel those feelings productively, but instead it kind of just proved to me that i wasn't happy with how it was going and decided it'd best to shelve it. years have gone by since, and at this point it's so different from my current projects (which i already barely have time to work on sadly) that i don't see myself returning to it in the future.

another element is that tapas as a platform has changed a LOT in the time since i first started RORY and my other projects, and that has been a big factor contributing to my motivation/lack thereof. can't get into that too much, but i very much doubt that RORY (or any of my other projects, to be honest) would exist at all if the tapas of back then was like the tapas of today. probably will not be hosting any future projects on there sadly..

all that said, i'm still so glad i worked on it because it taught me a lot about the comic making process and it's been such a treat seeing so many people really enjoy it. it will forever hold a special place in my heart and i don't intend to take it down unless the site undergoes some apocalyptic changes because i know there are still new people finding it all the time. thank you for reading!!
