When I was 18 my teacher jokingly asked me in front of the entire class if I was gay. He knew my mom and I wasn’t out to my parents and certainly didn’t want to tell him about my life. So instead I run out of the classroom, as he followed me out. I run up and down the stairs, and out of the building while crying. I tried hiding in another school building but he found me and we had the worst conversation of my life when I pretended to be upset about being accused of being queer rather than outed in front of my whole class. I still feel that shame 10 years later.

Now this building is being sold as luxurious apartments. I see the developer advertising it as „perfect investment opportunity” and „great for short term rentals” and I can’t believe I lived long enough to see an Airbnb being set up in a room where I was forcibly outed.

I’d say the real damage of “virtue-signaling” comes when people believe that voting in a presidential election genuinely determines their moral alignment.

there are few shows i’ve seen where i’m like wow this has literally nothing going for it- rings of power is one of them. it’s not for tolkien fans, as the lore is so rewritten that its unrecognizable. it’s not for high fantasy fans as all the fantasy elements and plotting are extremely stupid and badly done and the costumes are visibly from shein. it’s not even for the basic general audience as its boring as fuck with paper thin characters. who the hell was this made for 😭

I think something people get fundamentally wrong about the AI art issue is that they think artists hate AI art because they don't consider it art, when it was never really about this aspect as art is completely subjective. The problem with AI art is that it steals the hard work of artists. That it exists and is able to create something decent only because there are artists out there who share their work with pride, only for a bot to take pieces of what they make, simply rip off the visual effects and textures they spent years perfecting, and generate a random prompt for That Guy who thinks artists asking for money are bonkers. It doesn't matter if it's pretty or surreal in a cool way, it is stealing the labor of artists who struggle every day to earn the bare minimum to survive.
