Run and Catch (AI Attack) || Drusilla, Angel, & Inkasisa
Drusilla gleefully watched as Angel and the little slayer fought the invading soldiers. She watched him flow around them, bringing them pain and death. She smiled at this little glimpse, holding it tight to her memories for later. The soldiers continued to swarm and he continued to fight for himself and the girl beside him.
She knew the moment he saw her. The jerk of his head, the deep growl he gave. That growl was a war cry for her. He had tossed down the gauntlet and she planned to respond. She purred quietly, clearly pleased with his notice. She saw the violence he let free as he pinned the soldier against himself and the snapped his neck. She smiled, understanding that he wished to put his spoken promises to actions, but had yet to take the chance to do so. She smiled at his demonic face, her human mask still intact. Her smile was delighted. There weren’t enough words between them, but perhaps there would be after tonight.
Though anger was now the main emotion coursing through her sire, there was also worry. It wasn’t for himself and most certainly it wasn’t for her. No, he worried for the little slayer at his side. The girl was young, obviously one of the masses promoted to the fight prematurely. Her training was incomplete. She shook and trembled as she hammered down her blows on her attackers.
Though she was already scared, that didn’t stop the fresh jolt of fear that flashed through her when she saw that Angel’s demon had stepped forward in his anger. The girl didn’t know her, not yet, but soon, she would know more than she wished.
Drusilla smiled at the pair. She knew Angel and that he desired to find her, to catch her and to hurt her one last time. She let out a giggle before she turned around and took slow steps down the alleyway away from him. He could follow if he could untangle himself from the hoards. That, or he could let her go and fill this night with more empty promises of redemption found in her death.
Angel was proud of the way that Ink was fighting. The soldiers falling around her. She took down the hybrids and human with smooth movements and power. She reminded him of Faith and Buffy when they fought. Back in the early days when they were harsh, unrefined. And yet so much potential.
But she wasn’t his concern, his focus was on Drusilla. His ‘daughter’. The one behind so much evil he had faced, and a reminder of just what evil was locked inside him. Wanting, fighting, clawing to get it’s way out. And he was letting it out. To face what he created. To protect those around him, he was willing to let it out. He had done it before.
He looked back to check on Ink, to see her pinned down, and on the other side of things, Dru was walking away. Here’s one of those choices he had to make. Last time Drusilla was involved, he made the wrong choice. He wasn’t going to let that happen again as he lifted the soldier off Ink, throwing him into the others. He looked down at her and helped her up, “I’ve got you," he said softly as he looked back at the way Drusilla went.
"That was Drusilla. Very powerful, very dangerous vampire," he said fighting his way towards the doors again, Ink close by. "She’s my target, you hear?" He said loudly and sternly at her. "I’m going to need you to watch me. To keep them off my back and my attention on her." he said as he broke the arm of the soldier on front of him, leaving them there as he ran outside after Drusilla.
Ink was finding that she disliked this situation more and more by the second. Her ears were ringing with the sounds of gunshots all around, and the chaos was both unwelcome and unwanted. The soldier's weight crushed against her and Ink struggled against him. It wouldn't take much strength to push him off of her, she was a Slayer after all, but too much and she would break him. The narrow line between the two made her freeze up, only just holding him at bay. Suddenly, his weight was hauled off of her, and Ink sighed in relief as she saw Angel over her, accepting the offered hand. "Thanks."
He was still Angel, she had to remind herself of that. She'd always known he was a vampire, before she'd even met him. But the simple knowing in comparison to seeing was nothing, and Ink just found herself more afraid than reassured, even though she knew it was easier to fight if he wasn't trying to conceal his true nature. Instead she focused on his voice, which sounded like his human visage. "You think I would go after her?" Even through her fear, Ink could see how much Drusilla affected Angel, how much more angry he was now he'd seen her, how much he wanted her deader than she was. "I will do my best," she agreed quietly, turning back to look at the building behind her. She still couldn't see Cordelia, Faith, or even Fred. Hoping that they were okay, Ink turned back to follow Angel.
It was only truly then that she saw the bodies at their feet, as Angel discarded a man whose arm was bent out of shape. That man was lucky. Twisted bodies that didn't promise to get back up scattered the space between them. Ink's fear spiked to new levels as she followed the vampire, aiming to injure those who got in her way instead of killing them. The troops thinned as they entered the alley, and as Ink knocked one man off his feet, she gave it a glance around, unable to see the woman Angel was so fixated on. "Where is she," Ink called, kicking the next agent in the crotch. It was more effective than Ink anticipated.
