Liu Wei is nothing more than a mess in people's lives.
People tell him he's just spilled milk, they never cry over him – he's just an inconvenience at best.
That's to sum up the online conspiracies of Liu Wei, one of Kpop's most controversial trainees. He was just a simple boy – training to achieve his dream Nothing more, nothing less.
It all came to a change when his group debuted. That group was “M1NX”, a global co-ed group formed when KQ entertainment was just starting out – an unknown company. Before the first group – before everything that caused KQ entertainment to rise, there was a group called M1NX, which turned out to be Kpop's biggest issue to date. There were 5 other members, 3 other guys besides Liu, and 2 girls. Liu had formed a close bond with one of the male members –
Zhihua.
A trainee who had quickly become his best friend shortly during pre-debut times. Zhihua had a fierce outer look – but he was just scared, and Liu knew the reason why.
Zhizhua had many issues. Through all of his issues, he desperately strove to be an idol, which Liu tried hard to help him achieve – but every time Liu improved, Zhihua felt his spotlight shrinking.
As Zhihua's jealousy rose, so did his tricks.
The group's debut had failed, they barely managed to get any sales and KQ entertainment was going bankrupt.
Zhihua kept refreshing the page, he watched to see if the zero would go up just once. His body frozen in a trance as he continued to click that same button, he couldn't go back – he tried so hard for this.
He was terrified of failing and having to restart – so he did what any scared person would do, blame someone else.
Zhihua's hands tremble at the sales report – how could they make so little? They worked so hard, and yet nothing has changed. The numbers didn't make sense – he didn't understand.
If the group failed this soon, it wouldn't be his fault. He would have to go back to square one, his identity would stay as a nobody.
His eyes glaze over Liu, the only light in this dark hellhole. Liu was there, smiling and reassuring the members that they would soon make it big.
Zhihua's gaze turned bitter, turning poisonous as his thoughts took a dark turn. He knew what he had to do, and he was willing to go all the way to rise higher.
He had framed Liu for many things, mistakes, messing up the choreo, and sometimes even sneaking stuff into his backpack.
Zhihua had gone deep, but he kept going.
“There's been rumors of someone stealing a company credit card. We must do searches due to this incident.”
The staff's stern voice rings out in the seemingly empty room. They had searched everyone's rooms, making sure nothing was hidden until Liu's room. Liu had been found with the credit card.
Liu froze. His mouth opened, but no words came out at first. He kept shaking his head, almost violently, like he could physically erase the scene in front of him.
“This isn’t mine,”
he finally managed, voice cracking. He looked at each member, eyes wide, pleading – but no one moved, no one dared speak against the company.
He had meals taken away from him – been put into a separate room, away from his members, and had no access to social media.
Liu was tired, but he strove to be professional. Never speaking out against his fellow member, only letting Zhihua dig himself deeper into that black hole.
Zhihua's tricks never worked as much as he wanted them to, always striving him to hit deeper, until something else happened.
Addi, the group's main vocalist, and the only American member, had gotten jumped on the street.
A tragic accident she had to face, but Zhihua didn't care. He only saw this as a way to blame his members.
Zhihua had become manic, making fake accounts to post about it, blaming it on Mateo, the group's main dancer.
Zhihua's long, boney fingers drag across his keyboard. His bright monitor strained his eyes, the same clip burning into his eyes over and over again.
Zhihua spent all of his money on expensive editing programs, as he wanted this to work. He started working on making the person next to the organizer look strangely like Mateo.
He spent an hour on this part, making them laugh the same – using deep fakes Zhihua had created using AI. He smirked, that creepy – uncanny wide smile. He congratulated himself for the realistic recording.
“Zhihua-gege why are you up this late..?”
Nao's feet pad into the room, perking her head inside to take a look. Zhihua panicked – snapping his body up to cover his monitor.
“Nothing much, just working on some lyrics for the next comeback!”
His laugh echoed in the room, not in a reassuring way, in a creepy, hidden way. Nao didn't notice, nodding and wishing him good luck – heading back down the hallway to her room. Zhihua breathed a sigh of relief, moving over to his door and watching Nao get into her room.
He laughed dryly to himself, his fingers covering his pale, dry lips. He hadn't cared about himself – only on making himself look good.
He had gone back to his room, powering off his pc and heading over to his bed. His body rested there for a moment before he decided to pull out his phone, posting the videos on his fake accounts before his eyes started dropping, sleep slowly taking over his body. He set his phone off to the side, laughing to himself one last time before he fell into a must needed rest.
He had made fake tweets, edited screen recordings of the situation and made the whole group burst into flames.
It blew up everywhere, everyone blamed Mateo for not stepping in.
Mateo felt destroyed, refreshing Twitter for the 50th time, reading all the comments and tweets about him. The comments spread like a wildfire, getting even worse as he looked.
“Mateo? More like monster”
“Why wouldn't he step in? He's disgusting.”
“I knew Mateo was nothing more than a disgusting trainee.”
More degrading comments flowed in as he went on. He continued to read them, his fingers moving on their own.
As seen on the edited recordings, he was off to the side, shown laughing along with the guy who organized the whole attack.
Addi had felt terrible, she fought the urge to leave shortly after Mateo – but that fight was useless. She left the shell of who she once was, succumbing to the urges and soon leaving, signing off of KQ and leaving her idol dreams to the dust.
Mateo had left for “personal reasons” but soon later, was shown missing all over the news. He has never been found since, and the members had taken it to heart.
They all left heartfelt messages to him, remembering him through his impact on the group.
Mateo had left, as simple as that – no deeper meaning than just that. He had left the face of the earth completely, never being seen again.
Addi had left soon after Mateo, her departure left more attention on her than Mateo – she never wanted the attention.
Addi had developed deep depression, and shrunk into a shadow of what she once was.
Addi was hunched over the bar counter – her knuckles turned white around the glass.
The bartender didn't bother asking her what was wrong, this was her third time at this bar, regulars were used to the way she behaved. Her shoulders shaking up and down as she laughs at herself, cracking – it didn't sound like how she used to.
A poster is on the wall, showing all of the KQ trainees, all of them with wide smiles – her included. She was so happy then, but that all changed. Addi blamed herself, never once thinking about anything else that could've caused the group to crumble.
“Im sorry..”
Another glass is forced in front of her, she chose to gulp it down in seconds.
She never knew who she was saying sorry to, sometimes Mateo, sometimes the group, and sometimes even to nothing.
She never meant for the group to fall apart – she was just trying her best for the group.
She argued with fans – but the words she said were never what she meant. The true words collapsed in her throat before she could even speak out against the mockery.
She always went to bars, always drinking or crying. She had overheard many people talking about her past, her reputation, and worst of all, mocking Mateo.
She had started screaming at them to be quiet, that they didn't know the full story, even getting banned for her reputation at times.
Addi has since moved, and has not come back for a while.
Many articles have shown her toxic behavior, but never really knowing the full story.
“Shut up! Just shut up! You never got to know him personally! You guys – woah now don't get ahead of yourself Addi, you forgot about your incident as well.”
An obnoxious anti-fan interrupted her spiral, Addis face covered with dried tears, and fresh ones forming.
“You were the entire reason he had to leave the group – I mean, who would stay in the group after that.”
The person would snicker, turning on their heel and quickly walking away from the scene they caused. Addis' heart shatters, her knees colliding with the floor as her body wracks in sobs. Security dragged her out of the bar, throwing her out onto the street, where she picked herself up and moved on through the streets.
Addi had gone into severe depression, dragging the shell of her reputation with her.
Just like that, the group had started burning up, leaving some members to feel overwhelmed, causing even more tension between some members.
The last members that were still active in the group were Nao, Zhihua, Liu, and Yuto.
That would soon change due to a member's decision.
Yuto had left the company and resigned under JYP soon after. He has never debuted, he has kept his trainee status since. His reason for leaving is still unknown.
Yuto had never been active much, he just wanted friends. He never gained friends – besides Liu, no one else talked to him.
When Yuto walked out carrying his duffel bag, the trainees stepped aside. No whispers. No questions. Just a quiet nod from a few of them, like they understood without needing to hear the reason.
He never wanted to leave, but he cared about his reputation at JYP, he prayed to debut – even though he knew his efforts were useless.
3 members had left, and KQ entertainment had completely left them to rot. They had received no comebacks, no proper payment, nothing.
Zhihua was going mentally insane at this point. He had blamed Nao for everything, screaming at her and throwing everything in view. He wasn't even hearing what he was saying, he was just spewing words that came to mind. He had said many things along the lines of,
“Liu is only the one to blame – I tried to fix this!”
Many things were broken in the room, one in specific hurt, pieces of a lamp shade were scattered all over the floor. Zhihua didn't care – he never saw it as his fault anyways.
That situation was poorly recorded by a staff member and soon, uploaded without consent. Everyone believed it was Liu's fault, rewatching old clips, dance rehearsals and even more. He was blamed for everything.
Nao tried to clear everything up, but she was just seen as another traitor, soon leaving the group as well.
“Zhizhi! Please can we fix this – we can try, at least –”
“Nao, this group isn't to save.”
Nao's voice gets cut off by Zhihan's cold, sharp tone.
“Nothing can save this, I would be better off as a soloist for fuckssake!?”
His voice turned cheery as he hyped himself up. Nao never sees him like this. She tried to take a step back – fear in her moves as she waited for his next move.
Nao stumbled over her feet, scrambling out of the room, immediately finding her room as her safe space, her doorknob almost snapping off as she yanked her door open. Nao peaked out the door, pulling out her phone as she texted the company, wanting to resign as soon as possible.
Nao had done the unthinkable, leaving after all the group had. It wasn't her fault, this wasnt what she was looking for. she tried her hardest but she couldnt bear the attention.
Zhihua and Liu were left under the group. The group's shell was crumbling, and Zhihua made no effort to save it.
Liu left, but not after a certain night, when those words were said.
Liu was seen resting on a balcony from the recording. Zhihua stood still, right behind him, not speaking, not moving.
“I helped you as much as possible, but now as I look at it – you never wanted my help. You only wanted to be successful. Go on, live a happy life for me, Zhihua.”
Liu's cheerful smile covered his face, smiling from ear to ear, but that smile didn't quite reach his eyes.
“Why are you so nice, Liu? I'm – scared? I know, I helped you, now it's time for you to flourish. Go on, reach for the stars Hua.”
Liu had stopped Zhihua mid sentence, stepping closer to the thin man.
Zhihua hadn't eaten much – only one snack a day. He became malnourished, but he strived to be the internet's ideal idol.
Liu had been in that same spot, but he never did that much, Zhihua went farther than Liu ever could.
Liu rested a hand on Zhihua’s shoulder—not accusing, not angry, just tired.
“I know what it feels like,” he whispered.
“I do."
Liu left, only the ghost of his presence left for Zhihua to see, the door seemingly echoing throughout the streets as he left.
He was never seen again – leaving the internet to make assumptions about what happened.
He truly never meant to leave, he just needed a break. Liu had always been told to reach for the stars – but he never once felt close to the stars, was that point even real?
M1NX had crumbled, the group disbanding after Liu's disappearance.
The ghost of KQs most controversial group is gone.
Just like that, no connections to other groups – just gone.
Liu still wanted to reach his dream, after all that happened when he was 16. He was so young and naive, but so mature. He kept himself up, and now, after 3 years he's back.
His appearance on Boys2planet shocked many, but they looked into him more. They saw that he was happier – healthier than he was when M1NX was a group. His first audition many enjoyed, but it sparked many rumors.
Where had he truly gone? Was it all really his fault – no one knew, but he would reveal over time that no matter how many rumors would go on, he could push past them.
Liu had arrived on his audition stage, his stage presence improved, and people could immediately tell as he stepped on.
Many trainees pointed, jaws dropped at his new appearance. An older trainee pointed at him with slight disgust.
Liu was doing a quick mic check before his refreshing voice spoke up, introducing his new self.
“It's nice being on the stage again, I'm ready now, I hope you look forward to seeing me on the stage more!”
