can you believe it’s almost 2020 pride month and so many of y’all are still using “straight” to mean “not lgbt”? like. the word you are looking for is “cishet”. cisgender heterosexual people are not lesbian, gay, bi, or trans.

but straight trans people still exist and have just as much space in the community as any of us. trans people aren’t members of the lgbt community by virtue of also being gay/lesbian or bi. trans people belong in the community regardless of sexuality so the implication that “straight” people don’t understand lgbt issues is dumb and completely untrue.

take the time to analyze the language you’re using in your posts and make sure it reflects what you actually mean
