Ever since joining the Vandal Gang, Brand has shared a very close bond with Vladimir. He deeply respects the man's grasp of hemomancy and holds him in very high regard. He considers Vladimir to be one of his closest friends; they often love drinking at bars together and go and cause trouble. They also often cause a ruckus, drag racing on their motorcycles. All in all, Brand respects and reveres Vladimir greatly.

Brand has always been intrigued; allured by Orianna. Her other-worldiness appeals to his own, making him feel somewhat closer to her. The fact that she is alone - aside from The Ball - also is a point of connection for Brand. He finds her unthinking brutality absolutely irresistible and is attracted to her--although it is a somewhat odd attraction. He wishes to be near her in a way that he can further understand his allure to her.
