i don’t know who the fuck actually needs to hear this, but the n word is only for people of african / african american descent to reclaim … being ‘aboriginal’ ( indigenous to australia, canada, or the torres strait islands ) does not give you the right to use it in any context. the word nigg*r is derived from the etheopian word ‘negus’, meaning “a powerful ruler of a significant province ( like shewa or gojjam ) who was subordinate to the emperor … ”. it was broken down and turned into a word that tore down the rulers of africa to make their title seem less than, placing the power into the hands settlers who came to take them from their homes.
that said, i also wasn’t aware i’d have to say this, but the black and lgbtq+ experiences are not the same. being half black is not the same as being ‘half gay’, and the two simply aren’t comparable. do not use black poc as a scapegoat for your own mistakes. own up to them, educate yourself, apologise, and do better on your own, without people having to explain the obvious to you.
