for the longest time I tried figuring out what Baiken would do in a modern au and, at least for now, I’ve finally landed on: I think she’d work at a hardware store

#This is the part where I explain everything except I’m terrible at explaining stuff but uuuuh #In part. I think maintaining weapons would probably involve a good know-how of certain tools and parts #And she strikes me as the type of person to care about efficiency when doing something #Like “no cutting corners I’m gonna do this right because I only wanna do this once” type of mindset #Or she doesn’t wanna fuck something up on accident because it’s the only thing she has and fixing it would be a massive pain #And maybe she wouldn’t work on a cannon but she could probably work on like. A bike or something….#Plus I just think her attitude and demeanor kinda fits #vantayaps

I feel like almost every summit in this series has been interrupted by some catastrophic world-ending scheme, so I’m wondering if the short stories are building up to one that’ll actually be peaceful this time

goddammit ok I’m just gonna, add something onto the wrestling AU. I didn’t wanna inherently make it romantic so if you don’t care about that then disregard but now I’m wondering if there could be some playing around with Kayfabe and identity stuff. Anji is Baiken’s biggest fan, he is also very good at blending into crowds so the cameras never really pick up on him but you can HEAR him cheering her on and it always catches her off guard, like who is this guy??? And it turns out he’s another wrestler who is a COMPLETELY different person inside the ring, calm and composed and knows exactly how to bait his opponents (and is even a little flirtatious), and the moment they’re not infront of a crowd the persona drops and he immediately goes back to geeking out over getting to finally meet her AND face off against her and she’s absolutely thrown for a loop.

Ok what if they were in one of those modern highschool/college jock(?) and cheerleader aus except Anji’s the cheerleader

#Mostly in part because cheerleading does involve a lot of physical strength and balance and whatnot #Especially on the guy’s part since they’re usually doing a lot of lifting and catching #And one of his favorite things is vigorous activities so I feel like that checks out well enough #As for Baiken I don’t know if I’d make her like. A jock or something. Maybe she’d just be on the school’s team #There is also cheerleader x social outcast so that could work too but also I think she should be allowed to tackle somebody #And also get a cool varsity jacket #vantayaps
