I'm not going to start shit about this, it's not even this post in particular, it's more this flavor of post where people are using their understandable dislike for genAI chatbots in order to insist that Good Teenagers Experience Social Trauma. That's really fucked up of you all.
And I'm really tired of reading posts that describe my relationship of very nearly two decades, and then it turns into a fetishization of the idea that the relationship will dissolve into toxic psychosexual disaster where the people involved will lose their very sense of self, and we're talking about real people - teenagers! - not a fun fictional story.
I also did have relationships like this and they did not do anything good for me, my sense of self, my ability to socialize, or my artistic skills. And I also fucking hate this cheeky tone that promotes maladaptive daydreaming in a way that genuinely, for me, further developed my DID. and again, this is how you're talking about real teenagers, not fictional characters, so i think you're all fucking gross.
I would rather teenagers explore aspects of their sexualities that they're uncomfortable with through chatbots than through a toxic dynamic with another teenager. I would rather teenagers not hurt each other. I would rather adults not be so fucking wistful looking back on what was fundamentally real trauma, and that it's not even in the sense of writing a fucked up story, it's about chastising real teenagers. Fucked up!
