Yapping about my hcs for the Scallyrag critters/eRmA gUrDy bugs
It's really a shame that I don't see people often acknowledging Hatsy, Batsy, and Bootsy (most i see just opt to treat Scallyrags like one adult instead of three little guys) or the bugs inside eRmA gUrDy (often most of the focus is given to eRmA & gUrDy which i definitely understand but still want more of the other lil guys) so instead im gonna yap awesomely okay? This will only cover the major version, but ill probably make a second thing about the minor forms.
-First thing of note is that I headcanon the eRmA gUrDy bugs as being their children. They're slightly older than the Scallyrags kids but only by months.
-Also, I have names for the bugs! The green wings lil guy is Bristle (Bristletail), pink wings (the one who dies rip) is Bee (er... Bee), and the purple/blue wings is Butter (Butterfly) :)
-The Scallyrag kids CAN actually be seen outside their disguise on the major carnival. usually they just hang around and *mysteriously dissapear* whenever Scallyrags shows up. Normally this would be easy to figure out for the other carnival members (Hairionette is a detective for Galvana's sake) but Batsy does their best to counteract this. usually they just use their disguise to intimidate people or cause trouble though. They have parents, but they dont seem to be the most present or skilled at their job considering how their kids act.
-Hatsy and Butter are the youngest at six, then Batsy and Bee at seven, and Bootsy and Bristle are the oldest of their sibling groups at eight.
-Hatsy is a really shy kid with *very* impressive singing talent. Not only do they sound wonderful, but they can deepen their voice to the point of sounding like a grown man! But they're far too scared to comfortably sing in front of others, so disguising as Scallyrags fixes this.
-Batsy is *the* biggest troublemaker of the group, and also usually quite rude to anyone but their own siblings. They still show attitude to Hatsy and Bootsy, but they know it comes from a good place. Batsy has a very interesting magical ability: change people's perception on them and their siblings. This is what keeps up the disguise. They enjoy keeping a kind of "villain persona" with Scallyrags, but they're really just a kid trying to let their anger out.
-Bootsy is the kindest and most joyful of the Scallyrag kids, and also the only one thats easy to make actual conversation with. They have an intense passion for dance, especially in the tap dance field. But they also enjoy their siblings, and only want them to feel happy and secure (hence why they go along with the Scallyrags act. To watch over them and have some fun). They're also a very speedy runner, which helps the gang run from trouble when needed.
-Butter is an excitable and very VERY energetic kid with lots of time on their hands and about 5 million things they wanna do during that time. They're the average giddy happy kid who runs running out and following their older siblings on adventures and what not basically! They play the lowest pitches out of their siblings.
-Bee is relatively serious and down to earth compared to their siblings, but still to a reasonable level that keeps everyone safe. They heavily enjoy tinkering despite trying to seem "fancy" and whatnot, and they often put their trinkets to use when hanging out. They play the highest pitch :)
-Bristle is pretty calm and laidback, but still alright with engaging with antics. They often hang around and cover up trouble caused by their siblings or the Scallyrags kids, but they don't get their own hands dirty unless they realllly want something. They play in the middle range, in between their siblings.
-Generally the Scallyrag kids get along the best with the eRmA bug around the same age as them. Hatsy enjoys being pulled along by Butter (who also enjoys doing things with them), Bee and Batsy find eachother a nice comforting presence to complain about their grievances to, and Bristle and Bootsy like to just exist as friends without having to be responsible for two younger siblings.
-eRmA has a very positive relationship with their children as well. They wear accessories made by their children, they taught their children how to perform, and even their name (eRmA) is from when the kids used to horribly mispronounce and spell "Ma" back when they were too young to properly speak. They're even welcoming to the Scallyrag kids, though they arent as accepting of their parentally nature.

^also if they had pronouns then the scallyrag kids +Bee would be He/Him, Butter would be She/Her, and Bristle would be They/Them
