A typical day as a little parent!!
I am a Mum! I have a Son and he is the most fantastic, inspiring, beautiful and loving boy in the world and I am thankful each and every day that I have him. People have been wondering if/how this gets in the way of my DD/LG relationship and lifestyle so I thought I would share with you my daily routines and answer some basics!!
7:30am - Wake up to alarm, spend about 5 minutes untangling myself from various blankets and stuffies (and sometimes Daddy) Get my Son up, give him breakfast, make sure he brushes his teeth, takes a shower and gets dressed ready for school.
8:30 - Wake Daddy up! Depending on my mood, I will either jump on the bed, throw stuffies at him or give him kisses all over!
9:00 - Daddy takes my Son to school, I have breakfast and brush my teeth!! Daddy will check I have done this when he gets back, if I haven’t he will make me breakfast. Daddy works everyday except Wednesday and Thursday, so the rest of the week Daddy leaves for work!
9:30 - CHORES! I clean my house top to bottom everyday! (Darn OCD) I play my Disney album super loud and dance through it all (including laundry and ironing), I will send Daddy pictures if I’m particularly proud of my work hehe or sometimes I just miss him and need to message him! My house is 3 stories so I tend to finish cleaning at 12ish.
12pm - Take a shower! I take a shower as I’ve been super duper busy! And shave if I need to etc, get dressed and do downstairs to make lunch!!
12:45 - I will message Daddy or we call at lunch to catch up and he checks I’m okay and that I’m making lunch safely, he will ask for pictures to see what I ate that day.
1 - Clean up after lunch!! Decide what to cook for dinner that night (message Daddy shopping list - yes we do daily shopping, it makes waaaaay less waste! It doesn’t work for everyone, but it does for us!)
1:15 - LITTLE TIME! I can do whatever I fancy! I will play with Pie and the cats, watch some cartoons, color, or just sit and relax with my stuffies, check Tumblr hehe! Take piccies for Daddy or you guys hehe whatever I feel like doing!
3:15 - My Son comes home from school!!! We do his homework first to get it done then he gets changed, tells me about his day (what he learnt and ate at school etc) and then WE PLAY! We play pretend or he likes to draw with me, we play 2 player on my Gamecube or his Xbox, whatever he wants to do! Sometimes he’ll want to play out with his friends so I will play with Pie, watch T.V or read.
6:00 - DADDYS HOOOOME!!! I give him BIIG MASSIVE hugs and kisses, he goes to spend time with our Son while I prep and cook dinner.
7:00 - Dinner time!!!!! We all sit together and eat dinner and chat/catch up as a family!
7:30 - Get my Son ready for bed, teeth, shower etc!
8:00 - My Sons bedtime! He has a bedtime story I LOVE READING HIS BEDTIME STORY! Doing voices are my favorite and it makes us both giggle!
8:15 - Clean up after dinner!
8:30 - DADDY AND PRINCESS TIME!!! We do whatever we want!! Play, relax, talk - we just be together, go over our days, he goes through my chores and rules and will reward me or punish me if necessary hehe.
10:00 - Daddy gives me a bath or I take a shower depending on my mood/his mood. Then Daddy showers (I usually sit in my towel or robe and watch hehe!)
11:00 - Daddy gets me ready for bed! I pick out my PJs, he gets me dressed, makes me a drink, helps me choose bedtime stuffies and tucks me in. We usually watch cartoons for a while (Pokemon and Powerpuff Girls are our favs at the moment!) Lights out!
That is my typical day! Now to answer some basic questions!
- My Paci is private from my Son he doesn’t know about it, so I use it when he’s at school or in bed.
- I DO NOT call Daddy, Daddy in front of our Son I call him Dave/Grumpy butt hehe.
- Our bedroom is private and closed, our Son ALWAYS KNOCKS. We have special storage for all our toys. Daddy keeps my rules and reward chart in his bedside drawer.
- I do have to discipline our Son or be a grown up for him, of course, but it is easy because I love him and I am his Mum, I am little but I’m a Mum too and that maternal instinct is there just as much as the need to be small hehe.
- I get PLENTY of little time and time with Daddy, the time we spend together is precious and I get EVEN more one on one Princess/Daddy time with him on his days off!
- We spend plenty of time together as a family, we all goof around and play! We have a big house so hide and seek is a favorite! Me and my Son know all the best hiding places! Sometimes the cats give us away though hehe! At the weekends our Son stays up until 10, so we can play, watch T.V, play board games, or just chill as a family!
- I DO use my princess crockery around my Son. We have Christmas crockery we use all year around too hehe, he just knows I love Disney, it’s like when people have their own cute mugs.
- I have stuffies EVERYWHERE! So he knows I collect them and love them - his friends Mum collects Beanie Babies so this isn’t weird for him either.
In general we’re just a super close, fun loving family, I love teaching my Son and taking care of him, but I also love playing with him, it’s the best of both worlds!
