My defiantly non-easter easter nails, unfortunately I only got a few quick shots of my left hand. Finished them and went to bed, and had to go right out to my family's easter gathering where I absentmindedly started helping with everything forgetting I was wearing the Jersey Shore on my nails. I REEEEEEEALLY hope no bits fell off into any food lol, I was just setting the table... >.>

Purple Glitter - Rimmel 60 Seconds 615 'Night Before' and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 200 'Strobe Light'
God I loved this colour combination. It looked like a gel overlay, sooo shiny and gorgeous.
The deep blue undertones in the Rimmel 60 Seconds are unbelievable. I must have spent a good 4 hours total moving them back and forth under the sun.
This was a pre-mani to my next psychotic design which I called my Jersey Shore nails. That one was just way too many acrylic shapes and rhinestones and striping tape. Hella OP. (OP means Over Powered in this context lol)
I'm trying to figure out this newfangled 'alt text' buisness, oh jeeze I feel dumb lol.
Nothing too fancy happening here, just a regular base coat, then two coats of Night Before, one coat of Strobe Light (two is insanely sparkly, especially with the multi glitter sizes mmm) and a couple topcoats to smooth and finish it off.
Green and Gold Damask Attempt, Newspaper Technique + Pen FAIL.
This was a totally experimental design I tried before doing my St Patties Day Nails.
I tried using the newsprint technique for larger damask cut-outs and it was a nightmare getting them to line up/press all over the natural nail. I get the idea it works so great with newsprint because its uh, *cough* NEWSPRINT. Aka thin and inky. Next time I'm bumping my ink output way up and using a 15lb/gm^2 paper. And I learned that sexy thin pens aren't that great for drawing designs over transferred ink.
So here's the glitter + pen vomit :]

I don't mind the way the pinky looks, but I was not willing to put the effort in to redo all of them like that... and THEN do my right hand!? Nah, not enough gain for all that pain.
Apologies at the dirty and sore state of those cuticles, uploading my old pictures is teaching me a lot about what I should be more careful about.
So, putting glitter over newsprint looks kinda cool, I assume with a less complex design it would look better and be easier, but until I make that attempt I'll hold my tongue lol
The base coat is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure #430 "Grass Slipper." One of my favorite colors ever, super opaque and smooth and gorgeous after one application. No visible brush strokes either :] blah blah blah the end!

This is by far the creepiest photo of my hands ever ever. Makes me think of the hand-eye monster dude from pan's labyrinth. You know the guy.
Terrible photo, but those are the gold microbeads/beedz that I so love stuffing up my seed holes. MAN that's fun to type.
Again, no idea what polishes were used, other than the Claire's "Black Pearl" pictured. Can't find the bottle, after this mani i ended up falling out of my chair backwards and flipping the open bottle all over my room and unfortunately my netbook screen. Buushit. My then boyfriend was dying laughing, I had about a half second before the chair went over and according to him I had the most terrified "HELP MEE" face in that moment that I knew I'd be falling. Giggling thinking about it haha, but he helped me clean up and the world moves on.
Layer of purple with the 'Black Pearl' as a tip gradient, a rhinestone in the center of the tip to use as a spacing guide, 5 seed beads on either side of the rhinestone; 3 on bottom two on top, (I use a set 'minimum' number of beads that will fit on all my nails, some of the fatter ones I'll add more to if needed, but the checkerboard-like pattern looks good if it's uniform,) use toothpick to get clear polish into the holes so they don't collect dirt or bacteria, then add the gold microbeads when it's tacky. Seal with favorite topcoat :]
Robot Nails
Just a quick design on a man-friends hand, he refused to let me clean up the cuticles because, "My moms always bitching on about them, fuck them." I love my friends.

Such a Fuckin BEACH. Chippy Beach Nails
These were fun, even if in retrospect they look like crap haha.
The gradient on that pinky nail is kinda shit.
ANYWAY. I have a painting I did in like grade 8 or 9 that's taping with a little yellow sun and blue boat on a black sea/sky. I'll snap a picture when I get a chance, but this was partially inspired by that silly painting.
I love using seed beads as bases for microbeads, (or 'beedz') they stack up and fit inside of each other so fucking well its not even funny.
The suns were made using an orangey 1mm> bead and 6 gold microbeads, 5 around the seed and 1 in the center of the seed bead hole to hide unsightly hole. What do you put up your unsightly hole?
AHAHAHAHA THERE'S AN OPTION TO LET YOU ANSWER THAT WHAT THE FUCK TUMBLR. THAT WAS A DIRTY JOKE NOT A QUESTION. I hope for more happy surprises.

Yellow Pseudo-Tiger Stripes
Dolla Sto Ho. I am a Dolla Sto Ho. I found these rhinestone 'phone cover' stickers and initially thought they were the kind with individual rhinestones that you put on one by one. NOPE, They're solid friggin sheets so I ended up using my mani scissors and cutting em out.
Just tried to go take a picture of em and the camera died as soon as I'd tweaked the layout to my liking. Gopheriggure.
SCHMUTZY EDGES!!! Yeah I'm far too lazy to photoshop these... I cannot stand scrolling through all these fucking pictures. I'm hooked on the Windows Photo Gallery for cropping, and that's about it. I'm rambling, Right, Ta.

So these were about a dollar a sheet, and they last ages. Invest in some good mani scissors if you dont have any, makes cutting the little bastards out much easier.
Started off with a nice soft gradient using a makeup sponge, and attached bits with clear nail polish once its gone tacky.
Messy background, messy nails. :]
You can see the little edges that start lifting off, that shit was annoying. With all strips that you put on nails I've found that cutting the edges to be rounded or square is way better for longevity than any pointy cuts. The exception being striping tape which needs to be cut square and alllllmost flush to the edge of the polish, for me at least.
I decided in all my brilliance to nail glue the fuckers down, since ripping them up woulda meant redoing all the nails and I'm a lazy bastard.
BAD IDEA. Unless you've got a bunch of pure acetone to use (which I didnt) I do NOT recommend nail gluing shit on your nails- esp if you've got thin flaky nails like me. Even the tiniest bit of nail glue rips layers off my nails n leaves em soft n tender. Not fun.
When I did these again I squared em off really well and took about 45 seconds to hold each stripe down to make sure it was attached really well before I moved on to topcoats.
Bit tricky, totally worth it. Messy first attempt, but improvements abound!

LBP Inspired Purple 'Upholstery' Nails
I recently got a PS3 so I could play Red Dead Redemption, Dead Rising 2, and Way of the Samurai 3. Literally the only games I want/need until an amazing and mind blowing rpg comes out.
HOWEVER, I grabbed a copy of LittleBigPlanet, and I am so friggin happy i did.
So if you've played it, you'll remember all those lovely fabric-grabbable floors and ledges. I may just pop it back in to find the fabric this was inspired by actually, but for now just go with it man. And I have no idea what I'm talking about or where I plan to kidnap you to. Never stop mid-post to argue about the Fibonacci sequence and Freud.
I had so much fun doing these nails ^_^

2 coats Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure #330, "Pedal to the Metal"
Jeeze, I thought it was spelled "Petal to the Metal" since its such a pretty light flower petal colour. They fucked up, that woulda been sick. Either way dyslexia makes life brighter sometimes.
1 Coat of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure #150 "Angel Wings" that my mum got me for christmas :)
Then I painted on the black 'sticks.' Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure #340 "Black Platinum." I did a psychotically awesome silver stripe manicure using this polish as base, I'm uploading and linking... if i can figure this tumblr shit out. First did the long branch part with a striping brush, then added the little flanges with a regular thin nail art brush.
Having done that and thinking it wasn't as dreamy and cloudy as I wanted I added a checkerboard-ish pattern of "Angel Wings" over top the black. It gave it a lovely purple holo effect, and when the light hit it just right you'd see them pop out like crazy.
Added some white dots from a really old Sally Hansen French Manicure to resemble the studs used in fancy upholstery like this:

My dad's house is full of OP furniture that makes no sense, so a bit of a hat tip to my dad and his horrid taste.
Finished with my Revlon No Chip Top Coat... (about 3 times haha) and then it was off to the races.

Ugly Pink and Orange Tips
WOW. THE MOST MESSY NAILS EVER.
Did em at man-friend's haus with limited supply of tools... but omg so bad ahaha.
WHAT IS THAT. Yeah so I didnt know how to do tips... or shape acrylic nails. eww.

The pink really is creamy and gorgeous though, the only way I could abide these horrid nails for a day. #543 "Pink Rose" by Gosh. Tiny overpriced bottles, but daaaaaaayumn. They go on sooo creamy and beautiful. At Shoppers Drug Mart they go on sale for about 3$ a bottle if you buy more than 3-5, so I keep my eyes peeled for the deals. Otherwise I can't justify it.
And I have gotten a TINY bit better at tips. Not much, but a TINY bit. (Tiny in caps... because that makes sense lol)
Greeny Black Pink Nails

Probably the best photo to see the detail on the 3d nail art. Freehand "Slytherin" designs, though I didnt have any silver micro-beads so I used gold. My gold micro-beads wear off to silver in about a day though, so it works I guess ahaha.
These were spacey, and experimental. No real theme other than OOO SO COOL. And I was playing with acrylic.
You can see the pink sparkle tip/gradient things better here. An old pink polish that I LOVE SO MUCH. Its so old the name on the bottle's gone though :[ Eventually I'll end up hunting the globe for it and lamenting my shit luck to not find it again.
It goes on suuuuuper thin and not too sparkly, but i did like 8 coats of sponging to get it solid and its GORGEOUS. /rant

Arizona Green Tea Nails
Some old photos from when I first started my acrylics >:3 HOLY POOP THEY LOOK TERRIBLE. Also I didnt know how to photograph them at all at all. *I'm still horrid at these things, but have made progress (I hope to god lol)
These are my matte finished ARIZONA GREEN TEA NAILS WOOP.
So as you can plainly see, the thumb and the index had some odd buisness happening, it was my first time trying the single stroke technique on my nails and I couldn't bring myself to remove em. Just looks like a hot mess now haha.
I've had some fucked up nail polish ghost steal bottles off me. I'm missing multiple bottles... and I only have one room. That I just cleaned. And I don't know where they have gone. Polishes all take on cutesy nicknames for me, this was my "Petticoat Seagreen." Remember it as a revlon, not sure.

I remember shit-all about my colour choice, other than my Gosh Matte Effect Top Coat (clearly pictured lol)
Did a basecoat of nail strengthener, then painted them solid light mint. From there I did a coat of the Matte Effect and then did some polka dots in clear hi-shine polish. Wore those for a few days, then drew on these little sakura trees with a sharpie... which bled and wore off and was disgusting. DO NOT USE SHARPIES. At that point I was kinda pissed that they looked gross so I half-assed the flowers by dotting red and pink and then putting a smaller white dot in the center. A few people mentioned my nails reminded them of Arizona Green Tea, so I guess I... -sunglasses- Nailed It. God how many times have we heard that joke ahaha
