this is kind of a personal reflection type thing that i started earlier in the year when i was poking around in my old trigun tag...i made these trigun 98 redraws in 2015 and impulsively decided to redraw them again, now, in 2025. i didn't really finish the last one, as i ran out of steam and moved on to other stuff, but overall i think it's a cool improvement

#art #trigun #trigun 98 #i'm fascinated by the differences and the similarities #i still hate backgrounds lol i just like to draw character...#the more saturated soft effect of the og anime isn't translated at all here but i wasn't really trying to make it look like an anime either #time #i could have spent way more time on this but the point was that i put in about as much effort as the first #which ended up being a huge lie cos that fucking 3rd panel of wolfwood was what stopped me from finishing this #for months #i just couldnt get him to look . not hideous #something about that angle is brutal to replicate #i ended up wholesale tossing the original drawing i made and i cranked that out last night/today #which is almost always the answer when something isn't working #sigh #he still looks sort of soft but whatever #maybe i'll do another in another decade ha ha ha #idk i also didn't really bother w the aspect ratio thing this time but my subtitle game is at least better #it kills me that i know i just resized the text layer and put it under the first slightly larger cos i didnt know how to do outlines #happy new year also
