Blindly putting trust into others was one of Avery’s biggest faults, but it seemed like a safe decision to trust Vaughn and allow him to read something he had written in the future. No matter how vulnerable it would make him feel. “I appreciate that,” he nodded his head. The moment that Vaughn took hold of his hand upon rising, Avery had a small inner debate whether he should continue to hold it as they walked to the Room of Requirement or let it go. Maybe he should let the other decide first, letting the hold remain loose and comfortable. “Life can be more interesting than most believe, you just have to make it so or pretend it is before it becomes a reality. You never know what’s going to come your way and that adds to the fun of it all.” But it was also terrifying. Avery playfully bumped the other’s shoulder with his, “Trust me, I’m far from normal so I’m not judging you. You don’t have to be normal around me either.”
Vaughn knew that there was a line he shouldn’t cross with people that he felt deserved his friendliness. He wasn’t out there to make enemies or burn bridges with people that hadn’t done anything especially heinous. He felt like Avery was one of the better people out there, even if he was, at some times, too much. He gave a nod in response. He wasn’t sure what to do, instead allowing their hands to stay loosely connected as they made their way towards the destination. “I think that’s smart, Avery, and I agree with you. There are a lot of facets that are often overlooked.” He smiled gently at the bump, doing the same in return, connecting their shoulders. “Thank you. I appreciate the honesty.”
