Penguingni: Hugo & Peso

I just think Hugo's entire world view shifted after the great penguin race

Like Big Buff Bro or whatever, was in this Peak Penguin competition he'd be absolutely DOMINATING for literal years in a row SO HARD that ain't NO ONE went "hm, maybe I'll complete against him!" and then WHO shows up??? Mr. Twink Medic Boy. He literally came, stumbled and fell on his face during the first race, and then SOMEHOW NEARLY ALMOST WINS.

Keep in mind, they did both get TRAPPED IN A VERY SMALL TIGHT SPACE TOGETHER, and Hugo got injured and everything. Meanwhile, Peso is literally in Serious Calm and Competent Medic Mode, manages to figure out how to bandage Hugo while trapped and literally comforts him-

And then when free Peso didn't just go to win the race against the guy who's kinda been in his face about being the best of the best and wishing Peso a sarcastic "good luck" or whatever, but HE HELPS HUGO FINISH THE RACE AND SHARES THE WIN WITH HIM. Went "Well there are more important things than winning, like making sure your friends are all right." AND HUGO WAS MINDBLOWN and just??? so softly confused and in awe??!!

Anyways I thought Hugo may try to show Peso his appreciation thru a penguin peck <3 Hes a little embarrassed by it though and Peso is quite surprised.

ALSO I KNOW I MADE PESO OUTRAGEOUSLY SMALL, HES NOT ACTUALLY THAT SMALL IN MY AU BUT I LITERALLY CANT HELP MYSELF OKAY

also I made Hugo a Gentoo penguin (3rd largest penguin) and Peso half Gentoo, half Royal penguin <3
