Compliments are overwhelming and cringe, so how do these two show their love...?
The unmistakable sound of knocking against glass disrupted the tranquility in Guy Business's office. The grip he had on the neatly folded papers he pretended to read tightened, and he almost started yelling obscenities from being interrupted until he really realized where the knocking came from.
Who else could possibly reach him so high up from the outside?
He grinned and stood up from his desk, pushing aside his work and swiftly opening the window to let Suction Cup Man in.
💼: "Well, if it isn't the man himself!"
He almost hesitated, but he couldn't help but feel curious every time he spoke.
His grin dropped immediately and he grabbed onto the other's collar to pull him inside. Cuppy yelped, falling inside face first while Guy leaned against the window with a disappointed look.
💼: "Did you seriously come here just to be immature?
Suction Cup Man giggled while he stood up and adjusted his helmet.
🪠: "So what?! You basically live in this shit hole, just being here gives me depression!"
💼: "Well, these are the sacrifices people make for money. This is how we can live the way we do, Cuppy."
🪠: "I feel like now, even half-assing it would still get you enough cash to keep your fancy house!"
💼: "You think I don't half-ass it already?"
Cuppy's eyes widened a bit, and so did his smile, which made Guy cough and walk backwards into his desk.
🪠: "You were slacking off! Is that why you let me in?!"
💼: "Oh, I was basically done with it!! You can't blame me."
💼: "Christ, you're insufferable!!"
🪠: "Suuuuuure I aaaaam! That's why you're putting off paperwork to talk to me, dumbass!!"
Despite the insult, Cuppy chuckled and punched Guy's arm.
💼: "... You're so weird."
His grin didn't falter at all. In fact, it almost seemed to grow.
💼: "... But you're also funny and sweet when you want to be."
... That made his shoulder stiffen?
Guy was starting to connect the dots.
🪠: "What is your problem?!- I hate you too!!"
Guy Business shoved a cheerful Cuppy against the wall, hand on his chest. He grabbed his arm to try and shove him back, but he stood his ground.
💼: "You're insufferable."
💼: "You're such an asshole!"
🪠: "You're a piece of shit!!"
With every insult, Guy crept up closer until there were barely inches between him and Suction Cup Man.
Had this exchange been more positive, Cuppy would've been a hot mess. He would've pushed Guy away, stammered some comeback and kept bothering him. But this... This made him happy? Why did insults make him less uncomfortable than compliments?
💼: "Why do you like pissing me off so much!?"
🪠: "Cuz you're ridiculously easy to piss off, that's why!!"
💼: "Is this how you show you like me?"
He blushed a bit, suddenly aware of their distance, or rather, lack thereof. That only made Guy lean in closer and press him into the wall further.
🪠: "I- that's- no!! Maybe?!"
💼: "Is that why you like it when we fight? That's how you show love!?"
🪠: "Let- let me go, you corporate whore!!"
💼: "HAH- I caught you, didn't I? You really are a weirdo."
He finally let him go, which made him gasp a little for air and push him angrily, feeling flustered.
🪠: "Fu-f- it doesn't work anymore!! I'm leaving!"
Cuppy turned around to leave, taking out his suction cups that were as red as he was now. Guy put a hand on his shoulder and stopped him.
💼: "Okay, okay, I'll stop being weird. Just... Don't leave just because of that."
Suction Cup Man hesitated, arms crossed as he looked out the window he was about to climb through.
After a moment or two, he sighed.
🪠: "You're such a dick, you know that?"
💼: "No more than you are, fuck head."
🪠: "Mmm, no. Go back to Cuppy."
Guy smiled again, wrapping his arms around him.
So- yeah!! The reasoning behind my headcanon!!
Also, I wanna specify that this is nothing sexual. Cuppy just expresses his feelings differently than most people, and Guy absolutely loves it. I love them, I'm very excited for the next ep so I can see how they interact outside of the tower-climbing shit!!
