Here is a long picture consisting of several wide pictures, and that is because this is the website of Oss!
This is our short video explaining the app and showing it being used in the right context.
So, the next thing up is to make a web site and a video explaining the app. Here is one of our attempts to get some good looking pictures for the web site.
This wide picture shows the main functions of our final app! Make a group for the night, see wether or not the group members are still near you (within a 30 m radius), see your group in the map, chat with the group or With one person in the group, and at the end of the night, see who are home and secure as the app automatically tells all the group members when one another have arrived their home destination.
Finding a good name and a logo required many attempts, but in the end we were all quite happy with “Oss” and a simple logo with these circles inspired from the 30m radius we use on the main page in the app.
We decided to develop our Bitmoji concept further, and worked a lot on the main functions and interface. After interviews and testing we cut down a little on the main functions to make the app easier to understand and to use. I learned so much from this process about app identity, user focus, simplicity and much more.
One of our interview objects testing and loving our new app 😊
Here is our second app prototype that lets the users sign in with Snapchat and Bitmoji. Both ourselves and the users really like how Bitmoji opens up for personalization and fun in the app.
Prototype time! We have now made two prototypes that intends to solve the problems of the young party enthusiasts. This is the first one. We tested it on random users, who liked the idea very much, but had a bit of trouble understanding some of the icons and the menu bar.
Today, we got together and made a rough flowchart of how we want our app to work. Our main functions are: make a group for the night, register the address where you plan to sleep, see your friends on the map, see when your friends have arrived home safely, and chat with your group at any time.
From the intervjues we created three personas with the typical challenges young people have when they go out together at night. These three represents the one who always dissappears, the one who constantly wonders where the dissapeared person might be, and the restless one who wants to go somewhere else, but have a hard time getting the rest of the group going.
We decided to go for the concept with young people going out together, and to encourage them to stay together and to care for one another. We did many intervjues, and our main results are presented in the picture above.
Here is our second new idea, Gruppeplanleggeren, which will help a group of friends plan their night out, and stay together using planned meeting points and the ability to see the group members in a map.
This is an upgrade of the Trygg vei concept which shows you the safe routes, links you up to the people close to you so that they can see your position at any time, and recieve your films or records if you feel in danger and wants to save away some proof material.
After more research, testing and discussion we made prototypes of our concept Trygg vei, and of two new app ideas. This app, Ruter Secure, is planned to collaborate with Ruter, and to help travellers feel safe and comfortable on their way, and get the chance to contact security service quick and easy if necessary.
Concept no 3 sees safety from a different angle. This app will bring people in the same building closer to each other, encouraging them to care for one another, get to know your neighbours, or contact somebody quick and easily. Safety at home is a main factor for having a good life.
Our concept no 2 shows people not only the way home, but also which way is safer, according to the amount of light in the streets, popularity as in number of people and passing cars, and security guards. But, yea we do realize the possibility of criminals using the app negatively, increasing the danger of choosing one of the less "safe" routes, and more.
