If there is anything Gyehyeon likes, it's lazing around. He is perfectly content to move only maybe to migrate from the bed to the couch.
And it's days like these where he appreciates your secret relationship. He can imagine it's tough dating someone like him, so he keeps the thought to himself, but he loves living in this little bubble of rushed races to blacked out cars and secluded hotel rooms. This weekend's hotel is a nice one, tucked away from the main areas of Seoul and potential prying eyes. The afternoon sunlight streams in through the sheer curtains. Remnants of your late lunch, two empty pizza boxes, rest at the foot of the bed. The two of you are propped up against the headboard, amongst a flurry of fluffy white pillows. Gyehyeon's arm is slung around you as you scroll on your phone and he pays vague attention to whatever weekend daytime variety show is airing. It's quiet and comfortable. For just a moment, he forgets that this is all hidden, that tomorrow he has to go back to being celebrity boy group vocalist Jo Gyehyeon.
His attention is brought back to you when the sheets rustle as you lock your phone and turn to wrap yourself around him, throwing a leg across his lap. He laughs as you bury your face into his shoulder and leaves a small peck on the crown of your head. He smells clean, like the hotel soap you showered with while waiting for the pizza. His shirt is soft and warm against your skin. He tugs on your arm until you lift it so he can interlock your fingers. You're not sure how long you stay like this, Gyehyeon playing softly with your fingers, until he stops and you feel his breath steady and slow. Peeking up at his face, you see he's fallen asleep. A small pang of sadness rings in your heart over how exhausted your boyfriend must be. Balancing his celebrity life and somehow still managing to be an attentive lover.
He stirs slightly when you brush his fluffy, unstyled hair from his forehead and untangle yourself from his limbs. As you stand up from the bed to close the curtains and move the pizza boxes from the bed, he adjusts himself to lay down properly before sleepily making grabby hands at you. There's a quiet bliss as you return to the bed and into his warm embrace; a hushed "I love you" and sweet kiss shared before drifting off to sleep.

from the moment you set foot at school, Gyehyeon's priority is to take care of you. even though he's the class president and probably has a million other worries, you're his #1.
he knows how you like sitting by the window, which is why the best window seat in the class is yours. maybe, just maybe Gyehyeon used his president powers to assign you that seat at the beginning of the year ;) .
he knows you like to stare outside from time to time, which is why the curtains are always pulled back when you first take your seat. Gyehyeon does that for you every morning. he even gifted you a succulent to place on the windowsill next to you, claiming it was to brighten up the classroom, but really he just knows your love of plants.
when you fall asleep on your desk, Gyehyeon, who sits just in front of you, carefully nudges your foot with his own each time the teacher is about to pick on someone to answer a question. if you don't know the answer, Gyehyeon takes over.
"ah, teacher, y/n and i were just going over this this morning! maybe they don't remember because it was so early, but the answer is..."
he also fills up your water bottle when you sleep in class during breaks, knowing you find it annoying to walk down the hall to the water fountain.
he always gives you your favourite side dishes in the cafeteria, walking past you and stopping to give them to you.
"hi, y/n! was class okay for you today so far? here, i don't really like these so you can have them."
your friends always tell you to invite Gyehyeon to sit with you during lunch, but you're too scared to. Meanwhile, Gyehyeon does nothing but smile at you from across the cafeteria, his heart full as he watches you eat. the truth is that every time he walks by you, he wants to ask if he can sit with you, but he's also too scared. that's why the only way he can show his love for you is through the little things.
everyone is aware of how Gyehyeon treats you differently, and the whole class teases him for it, especially because it seems like you don't respond. Gyehyeon just laughs off the rumours, though, not hurt by then at all, especially because he knows you're the one behind the cute bowls of cut fruit in his locker.
as a way of showing your thanks, you always leave a bowl of cut fruit for Gyehyeon in his locker every morning. fruits are his favourite, and you take that into account. of course, though, this is more than just a token of thanks... you like Gyehyeon. the way he cares for you makes your heart flutter, he's so cool for being the class president and staying on top of his studies while also pursuing music...
but both of you are too shy to even talk to each other beyond a 'hi!', 'good morning!' or 'see you tomorrow!'.
you desperately want to talk to him, but you're so intimidated by his class president and lowkey most popular boy status that you stay quiet, begging the universe for Gyehyeon to make the first move... which he does, after his friend, Yeonho, talks some sense into him.
"you both clearly like each other! they leave fruits for you in your locker every day!! just talk to them!" Yeonho whines at Gyehyeon in the cafeteria.
Gyehyeon sucks in a deep breath and nods, lifting up his tray of food and standing up, walking towards your spot. when he's hovering right above your table, you and your friends all turn to look at him in unison. he doesn't lose his momentum, though.
"hi, y/n! can i sit with you?" he asks, looking directly at you.
you look at your friends first for approval. when they happily nod, you tell Gyehyeon to take a seat.
it was a bit awkward at first, but your friends were kind enough to talk to Gyehyeon and make both of you feel comfortable... before they all collectively make some excuse about having to work on a group assignment.
with only the two of you left, sitting across from each other, both of you smile shyly down at your food.
"y/n... do you want to meet up after school some time? maybe to study?" Gyehyeon asks.
"to study? bleh!" you say, sticking out your tongue.
Gyehyeon laughs and shakes his head.
"you're right... well, we could go to a pc bang and pretend to study? but actually play games instead?" he suggests.
"who studies at a pc bang?" you ask.
Gyehyeon pouts.
"okay, okay we can go there!"
his pout changes into a puppy dog-like smile and he excitedly yet softly stomps his feet against the ground. finally, his small actions of love are blossoming into something bigger.

as the snowflakes slowly fell on the ground, making piles of white powder snow covering the city, you snuggled up in the arms of your boyfriend. the comfy, big blanket covering you two and warm tea made sure none of you would catch a cold. the christmas lights underneath the ceiling blinked from time to time, creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. a satisfied smile appeared on your face when minchan started brushing your hair with his fingers.
“can i flip to the next page?” he asked, looking at you and then on the book he held. it was another of your reading-together sessions, but this time you focused on something totally different.
“what?” looking at him and frowning, you remembered what you two were doing. or at least, what you were supposed to do. spotting the book in minchan’s hands, you giggled innocently, trying to cover up your distraction. “uh, yeah...”
“you sure?”
“yes?” mission failed miserably since the hesitation in your voice was showing very much, definitely not convincing your boyfriend. he raised his eyebrow and stuck his gaze in you, trying to say: “are you sure about that?”, which quickly brought results. “no...”
the apologetic look you gave him made his heart melt. tilting his head a bit, minchan put the book beside you two and fixed the blanket, so it covered you even more. then, hugging you, he rested his head in the crook of your neck. his slow and calm breathing made you tickle, so little giggles escaped your mouth from time to time, and when hearing that, minchan smiled. after couple breaths, he lifted his head, and after giving you a series of small kisses on your shoulder, he pulled you even closer to him.
“did you know?” he started, looking you deeply in the eyes when you turned to him.
“did i know what?”
“that i’m in love with you.”
you laughed nervously. that was cheesy as hell, but yet it was awfully cute. you had to admit, even if you hated these, you needed such small things and reassurances from time to time. it made you flustered though, especially when it was so unexpected. but when would it be expected?
after covering your face with your hands, you finally looked at him. smiling widely and joyfully, you grabbed his hand and intertwined your fingers, tucking his hair behind his ear with your other hand.
“did you know?” now you wanted to make him cringe a bit.
“did i know what?”
“that i have the best boyfriend, which happened to be you, and i couldn't be happier than i am now. i love that i’m in love with you.”
