If there is anything Gyehyeon likes, it's lazing around. He is perfectly content to move only maybe to migrate from the bed to the couch.
And it's days like these where he appreciates your secret relationship. He can imagine it's tough dating someone like him, so he keeps the thought to himself, but he loves living in this little bubble of rushed races to blacked out cars and secluded hotel rooms. This weekend's hotel is a nice one, tucked away from the main areas of Seoul and potential prying eyes. The afternoon sunlight streams in through the sheer curtains. Remnants of your late lunch, two empty pizza boxes, rest at the foot of the bed. The two of you are propped up against the headboard, amongst a flurry of fluffy white pillows. Gyehyeon's arm is slung around you as you scroll on your phone and he pays vague attention to whatever weekend daytime variety show is airing. It's quiet and comfortable. For just a moment, he forgets that this is all hidden, that tomorrow he has to go back to being celebrity boy group vocalist Jo Gyehyeon.
His attention is brought back to you when the sheets rustle as you lock your phone and turn to wrap yourself around him, throwing a leg across his lap. He laughs as you bury your face into his shoulder and leaves a small peck on the crown of your head. He smells clean, like the hotel soap you showered with while waiting for the pizza. His shirt is soft and warm against your skin. He tugs on your arm until you lift it so he can interlock your fingers. You're not sure how long you stay like this, Gyehyeon playing softly with your fingers, until he stops and you feel his breath steady and slow. Peeking up at his face, you see he's fallen asleep. A small pang of sadness rings in your heart over how exhausted your boyfriend must be. Balancing his celebrity life and somehow still managing to be an attentive lover.
He stirs slightly when you brush his fluffy, unstyled hair from his forehead and untangle yourself from his limbs. As you stand up from the bed to close the curtains and move the pizza boxes from the bed, he adjusts himself to lay down properly before sleepily making grabby hands at you. There's a quiet bliss as you return to the bed and into his warm embrace; a hushed "I love you" and sweet kiss shared before drifting off to sleep.

you and hoyoung aren’t DATING... but you know he likes you...he knows you like him... everybody on the planet knows you and hoyoung are definitely a thing and wishes you would just make it official
but you two are enjoying this vague phase of your relationship
he wants SO badly to be able to have at least the OCCASIONAL moment where you see him as a cool, handsome /manly man/ but you always seem to out do him on the cool factor
not that he minds, he does think you’re pretty fucking cool and is never not completely heart eyes at you
but you know... it’d be nice if he got to have his cool drama lead boyfriend-but-not-boyfriend moment every once in a while
it’s cold outside and you’ve gone out together for lunch and coffee
hoyoung TRIED to put on his best chic winter boyfriend look, trench coat and all, but you can’t stop giggling at how cute he looks with pink cheeks all bundled up uwu
even when you don’t say anything he can tell just by the way he catches you looking at him that you think he’s cute- NOT the vibes he was going for today
when he catches you giggling beside him while waiting for your coffee, he whines “stop it~~~~” and pulls you by your wrist into his side for a tight squeeze
“ok i’m sorry you’re super cool. very chic. very burberry model.”
“thank you !”
he throws in a pose and you throw your head back and laugh
later you popped into a store for a quick errand while he waited outside
he spotted a crane machine with plushies of your favorite character and decided it was his TIME to SHINE
it most definitely didn’t take at least four tries before he actually got one but he did and that’s all that matters
when you come out of the store he saunters up and taps you on the shoulder, offering the plushie and putting on the air of an overconfident bro-type
“Hey, I just noticed you walking by. Do you have a boyfriend?”
You’re happy to play along with his shenanigans.
“Actually, I do. Sorry. He’s pretty hot. I actually got him this donut but he’s nowhere to be seen right now so I guess I’ll eat it.”
at this point hoyoung was FLUSTERED because you had basically just admitted that he IS your boyfriend and you had never done that before and should you discuss that right now? are you just playing around? what does he say? he also really wants that donut... but you also just called him your BOYFRIEND...
you can see the gears turning in his head and his ears are tinged pink from more than just the cold.
while he’s busy malfunctioning, you take the plush from him and hand him his donut
you almost go to continue on your way before turning around and planting a kiss firmly on his lips

The whole thing is just so incredibly soft and cozy !!!!
I think you would have to ask him out first. He just seems like the type to be very focused on his studies/goals and completely oblivious to the fact that somebody was interested in him.
You were already acquaintances and had hung out in groups with mutual friends before. When you approached him while he was studying in the library to ask if he wanted to meet up for lunch, like, as a date, he played it pretty cool and accepted but after you walked away he definitely was a little shell shocked and giggly before getting back to his work.
He knew that he thought you were pretty and smart and funny and kind, but being the very logical human he is, it didn’t necessarily dawn on him that those could be ~romantic~ feelings.
Also as the very wise and logical human he is, he’s not very nervous! To him, though he does like you, he’s open-minded and just ready to have a good time and see how things work out! (Or maybe he won’t admit to himself that he’s got some butterflies......)
so the actual date...
Surprisingly, he lets you take the lead in planning but he does text you a few restaurant suggestions that he would never tell you but he did do extensive research on what food and what kinds of restaurants are good for first dates.
In peak university romcom, he waits for you outside of your last class before lunch time and you walk together to the restaurant.
If it’s cold out, he brought an extra hand warmer that he gives to you before you set out. If it’s warm, he lets you use his fan as you walk.
He’s generally the type to ask questions and listen to people talk about themselves but he’s taken aback in a cute way when you ask him about his day and his interests and suddenly the butterflies are back.
He gets a little embarrassed and apologizes when he realize he’s rambled on about some math or science thing or Interstellar, but then gets uncharacteristically flustered when you assure him that it was cute to hear him talk about something he was so passionate about.
You chose a meat restaurant he recommended and sit on opposite sides of the grill. (He’s definitely the one who grills the meat.)
He always checks and makes sure that you have more than enough to eat and frequently checks if you want more of your favorite side dishes or rice.
The whole thing is very casual but the chemistry is THERE.
Eventually he gets comfortable enough that he lets his goofy side out and there’s nonstop laughing between you two as he tells you stories of the ridiculous shit he and his dumbass friends get up to.
Highkey you can’t stop staring at how cute he is when he laughs really hard.
Remember how I said he’s not nervous and feels pretty lowkey about it? That’s done, that’s gone, he’s head over heels. He’s still not letting it get out of hand, he’s got to take things slow, but his heart is definitely beating faster.
He pouts when you insist on paying since you invited him out.
As you walk back to campus, he holds in a squeak when you jog to catch up with him and gently hold his arm as you walk.
You pass by one of those crane machine arcades and he asks if you want to go in since he noticed you looking at it.
You both go in and decide to have a competition for who can win something first, since he INSISTED that he’s the BEST at crane games.
So now you’re at two machines facing each other frantically feeding your coins into the machine and there’s definitely a picturesque moment where you look up and make eye contact through the glass with huge smiles.
Spoiler alert: you win, but he insists on going until he wins something and you exchange your prizes. He promptly attaches the plush keychain to his backpack.
Photobooth photostrips are also a must, complete with cute props. Both of you are internally debating if you should make a bold move like putting an arm around the other or even a kiss on the cheek, but nobody does... instead it’s just a cute and silly 4-set of photos that both of you take home (to be saved for a funny story later in your relationship when he admits that he wanted to hold you then and you punch him because he should’ve just done it)
Overall it’s so pure and cute and lovely and when you say bye back at campus and go your separate ways he keeps peeking over his shoulder to look at you walking away and spends the rest of the day smiling to himself.
