Genuine question, with the Donald Trump thing, did he say something else was crappy about the women’s team? Or was it just the “ you know we’ll have to bring the women’s team too” part? I’m overall super unhappy with this entire thing, but I heard someone scream “two for two” after he said that, which makes me think at least some of the positive energy in response to Trump‘s comment was just that both the men’s team and the women’s team had won a gold.

i noticed this too and someone else says "absolutely," which does lend to the idea that some of them were too drunk or stupid to get it initially, but after he doubles down and says he'll get impeached if he doesn't, it really drives it home and most of them still laugh. regardless, it created a situation where a lot of people think that they as a whole don't respect the women's team, which is both incredibly unprofessional, and if it's not like, actually true, not an idea they individually or usa hockey should want out there. frankly, it's just a bad fucking look, and if they don't want people thinking they're misogynistic assholes, they have to do their own damage control, and we shouldn't be doing it for them.

I hope, when he and Quinn look back on this Olympic experience, it’s forever tainted by that singular moment. And I hope they feel sick to their stomachs about it.
