This is based off the DnD campaign, where Cass plays Gingersnap Faerie, and gave the monologue of a lifetime recently.

Stardust liked his bird form. It made Cookies gawk at him, and sure he was looked at a bit weirdly by most international world leaders, but it was fun to fly around, to explore the perpetual nighttime views.
It was also funny when he wanted to rile Nox Black Salt, which is what he was currently doing. The mare whinnied loudly again, ears pinned back as she glared. Stardust simply ruffled his chest feathers in response. Nox was funny. She was often fun to play with (and the first time she realized Stardust could shapeshift, she ran off to the Barren for a week) when Silent Salt Cookie wasn't around. Before Stardust could cover Nox in feathers again, a loud shout startled them both.
"Nox! Get over here, NOW!" The familiar voice had Stardust chirping in excitement as he took flight, rushing forwards. It took only a few seconds for the impact to happen - and Stardust, with all the speed of the stars - slammed into Mercurial Knight, who shouted as his giant bird of a boyfriend knocked him over.
"Ack! Hello to you too, you big meteor!" Mercurial Knight cried out as Stardust chirped in delight, choosing to settle down on top of the very-squished knight, who dodged the attempt with all the grace he'd been taught. Righting himself with narrow silver wings, Mercurial flew up and stroked Stardust's beak, pecking a kiss to it, and Stardust chirped in affection as Mercurial Knight laid down on the large span of feathers his wings offered.
"How have you been?" Mercurial Knight smiled, stroking the down-soft feathers. Stardust began animatedly chirping, clearly irritated with something. He had mentioned recently Milky Way had forced him into helping babysit a child? Maybe it was that. Mercurial Knight didn't know much about it, as the message had been sent when the adventure started. Something about the child being called Melancream Cookie and needing help? Mercurial smiled as Stardust huffed, finishing the story on a very frustrated chirp. Mercurial Knight smiled gently as Stardust then settled properly, and Mercurial Knight noticed that Stardust was looking at him expectantly.
"How am I, is that your question?" Stardust cheerily mrrp-ed in response, and Mercurial Knight laughed. "I'mā¦" His mind traveled to everything that had happened as of late. "I, uh. I found my parents. My dads, I should say." Stardust immediately opened his eyes, alert and trained on the much-smaller Cookie on his wing. "Turns out, I'm one of Silent Salt Cookie's long-lost twin sons. My twin brotherā¦ it's Black Sapphire. Apparently, I was Azure Crystal once." Stardust purred to soothe Mercurial, who leaned into the sound. "Shadow Milk Cookie kidnapped Black Sapphire when we were kids. I couldn't handle the grief, soā¦ I became this." Stardust mrrp-ed again in sympathy. "Apparently, Gingersnap, Caz, and Silverbell? They're all my half-siblings. Oh yeah, and I have two more now, I guess. A new half-brother and sister. Their names are Willow and Elderberry Cookie. They're just doughlings, though. Snaps adores Elderberry, she dotes on him like no other. Meanwhile, Willow loves Silverbell. Iā¦ I just don't know how to feel about them." Mercurial Knight sat up, memories of holding Elderberry, who burst out into sobs immediately and then calmed back down once Gingersnap held him again and Willow ignoring him flooding his mind. Stardust purred louder, and Mercurial smiled as he snuggled. "At least you don't cry when I hold you."
"Well, he is a massive bird," a voice came, and Mercurial Knight shot up to see Black Sapphire standing below them both, at the entrance to the grove. His right wing was still bandaged fromā¦ everything. "You know, he's actually quite cute." Stardust hissed in response.
"Black Sapphire, what are you doing here?" Mercurial Knight groaned. Lately, the show-host hadn't interacted with anyone unless he - or they - were needed. Black Sapphire approached softly, hand out in a relaxed position. Stardust, clearly upset about the intrusion on their bonding time, went to bite him. Mercurial Knight threw a small charm just in time, and Stardust was left sneezing soft indigo sparkles.
"Sorry I try and bond with my brother," Black Sapphire said, watching the magic fade. "I know you two rarely get your time, but I do have about eight and a half centuries to catch up on too, y'know." Stardust glared at Black Sapphire, who simply stood where he was. Mercurial Knight watched as the giant bird he called boyfriend and his brother stared each other down, and eventually Stardust relented. Black Sapphire smiled, but before he could celebrate victory, he screeched as Stardust picked him up to the tune of Mercurial Knight's laughter, depositing him next to the knight sat on his wing. Wiping joyful tears from his eyes, Mercurial Knight smiled.
"First time?" he asked as Black Sapphire used purple-hued magic to de-ruffle himself. Black Sapphire laughed as he sarcastically replied, "Very funny, you two. I just come along to do some brotherly bonding, and alllll of a sudden I am thrown around like a chew toy for a Cake Hound!" A loud laughter came through the air as Black Sapphire yelled the final part, and Mercurial Knight peeked over to see Gingersnap waving from where she stood beneath the wing of Stardust, who chirped in exasperated frustration. She flew quickly up, patting Stardust as she settled on his back. "You'll learn, Sapphy," Gingersnap greeted the two, setting her plant down as she adjusted a pin in her hair. "Besides, Stardust is such a good boyfriend!"
"Why must all of you have partners and I remain perpetually single?" Black Sapphire lamented. "You and you bodyguard, Snaps, these two gay Cookies, Silverbell and his new boyfriend from the Knights, Caz andā¦. whatever he has going on, heck! Even Candy Apple is crushing on Strawberry Cookie and my own fathers both have new partners!!" Stardust chuckled a bit at Black Sapphire's poor circumstances and Mercurial Knight smirked. It was as much as his twin had spoken to himā¦ ever, actually, and he wasn't about to let the chance slide.
"Maybe you have to throw someone off a tower first or hold a sword to their throat?" Mercurial Knight asked innocently, causing Gingersnap to laugh and Black Sapphire to start screaming in offense.
Stardust, however, wanted his boyfriend alone. Before he could think of the implications, he took flight, throwing Mercurial Knight and his stupid twin and sister on his back, every one of them shouting in shock. Flapping his wings once had Black Sapphire and Gingersnap deposited at the Eastern Gate of the Faerie Kingdom, and before Mercurial could lecture him, Stardust took flight to the north.
He just had wanted to kiss his boyfriend!! And now he would. Far far away from any interruptions.
I hate begging. I really do. But I can't take this any longer.
My roommate and I are finally trying to get out of our transphobic, abusive households and get a place where we went to school. No rush, as we're trying to do this after graduation, but anything helps. Sharing, reblogs, anything.
Likely going to get Mercudust week day 7 out late since Iāve been traveling all day on our way to our vacation destination! If I can get two days out in one, I absolutely will tho
People lamenting about Devsis writing Lily and the faeries out of the story fail to realize theyāve already done it. Thereās no reason to ever go back to the kingdom, and even if they do, the residents are now off in the world doing their own thing. Devsis fucked over any fans of the faeries; we can no longer predict if or when weāll ever get content again.
And a little extra rant tooā¦
Honestly, Iām sick and tired of it. I am so tired of getting my hopes up for my favorites only for it to be a fake out because this stupid team only prioritizes their same cast of 5 characters. And no, not the ancients or beasts. I mean the remaining 4 ancients and Shadow Milk. Outside of them, if youāre not relevant to those characters, youāre basically not gonna get content. Iām so fucking tired of it and Iām sure Iām not the only one.
As an author, someone about to GRADUATE with a BA for writing, this is a shining example of a glaring issue writers may have. If you canāt make your large cast have equal focus, DONT HAVE A LARGE CAST.
