When autistic non-binary women start talking about their "complicated relationship with gender" I go absolutely insane because they literally hit the nail on the head in describing what it's like to be an autistic female, like how we don't properly understand social rules like gender norms and roles, but then they conclude it with "and that's why I'm not a girl!" like actually that's why you and your experiences are completely indistinguishable from the average autistic female, congratulations.

What you had was an amazing, in depth analysis of how gender is inherently social, and as a result, autism is inherently gender noncomforming, but instead you had to be a pretentious fuck with a lot of internalized misogyny and a massive individuality complex.

The absolute worst of it was when I would post videos on TikTok about my lifelong struggles to fit in with girls my age and properly conform to the rigid and confusing standards of femininity. Multiple comments suggested I may be some form of non-binary, perhaps agender or a demigirl.

It's genuinely so sad to see so many autistic women fall pray to our misogynistic online culture that tells them they aren't women for failing to meet the ridiculous and sexist expectations enforced on our sex by patriarchy.
