Ashton took a deep breath to keep herself composed before answering. “No it’s fine.” She said. “Hey put my stuff by our door with a note saying that it wasn’t working and that maybe I should find somewhere else to stay. At least he was considerate enough to pack my things neatly…” She said almost as an afterthought.

“And that was it? You just left? You didn’t call him or talk to him about it or anything?” Vera was confused. “I’m sorry, it’s none of my business, it’s just really odd.”

“Okay, take your time.” Greyson looked around the store curiously as she disappeared into the fitting room. once she came back out, he followed her. “Sorry, was looking at something.” He smiled, returning to her side.

“That’s alright. So, do you have to go home now? We can always get something to eat, or something to drink?”

“I don’t want to hear about skimpy-Mom lingerie.” Vera laughed. “I guess I’ll just save this for a rainy day.”

“What were you going for anyway? Chic? What else do you got in there?” She nodded her head to the closet.

“I was trying to go just for the plain black dress that I can dress up or dress down.” Vera explained. She pulled the doors to her closet open wider, “Take a look for yourself.”

“Brutally.” He said as if correcting her. Once she turned around, he thought for a moment before nodding. “I like it. I think it fits perfectly.”

“Yay. In that case, I’ll go for the jacket, but pass up on the dress. Just give me a second,” Vera went back in the fitting room, changing out of the dress back into her normal clothes, taking the jacket with her. After purchasing it, she looked to Greyson. “You coming?”

“You are right, but it just doesn’t seem as therapeutic or symbolic.” She said with a shrug. She’d figure it out later. “Go ahead. Do whatever you want with them.” Ashton said to the other, as she watched her old things burn. It was nice. she turned back to Vera. “Go ahead. I am an open book.”

“You got me there, I didn’t think about that aspect.” Vera chuckled. “Okay,” Vera started crumpling a few papers and throwing them in, looking back at Ashton. “Awesome, but don’t be afraid to take a pass to this one. How do you and your ex break up?”
